发帖数: 503 | 1 有点意思，通过视频回放可以看到以下犯规(foul)和不当行为(misconduct):
1.戴,从后方抢球时抱人-holding, foul
2.格,挣脱时左手向后打到郑的头部-striking, foul
3.戴,在格脱离时绊人-tripping, foul
4.郑,卡位身体挡住格-blocking, foul
5.格,试图摆脱郑时推人-pushing, foul
6.戴,用右胳膊肘挡格-holding, foul
7.戴,在脱离过程中左手推人-pushing, misconduct
8.格,左手打戴的脸-striking, violent conduct
其中1-3为第一阶段，4-8为第二阶段。球在7之前出界，所以7和8属于misconduct.
在第一阶段，1和2基本属于trifling，即可判可不判，而且发生得很快，裁判不一定看
得到。3则很明显-格被绊倒了，主裁判显然也看见了并且准备吹哨了。但随后格很快爬
起继续控球，这时主裁没有吹哨，决定apply advantage。这其实是主裁的一个明显错
误，因为此时格虽然控球，但面对3个防守队员，显然判任意球对国安更有利。

美国的工程师基本上可以分成三类: A player, B player, C player.
湾区这几年的现状是A team这个群体供给基本上没有很大的增长，但需求疯狂增长，导
致A-player身价倍增。湾区的A-player一般至少比其他地区A-player在基本工资上高5-
6万，一般来说20万一年的package是底限，这个群体的供需失调导致有些很多A-的
player也混进了革命队伍；
B-team随着A-team工资的增长也尝到了甜头，享受了一些trifle down effect, 不过基
本上20万是上线。但可以自我安慰工作不忙，生活工作平衡比较好，和其他地域的B-
team比起来差别不是很大，总package大概多个10-20%。
C-team生活也不错，基本上能找个坑，工资和其他地区没什么区别，福利和文化好点，
毕竟湾区对移民友善，技术公司经常有点小perk.

昨天有两场FOA比赛。第一场是Mighty Mite级别的，第二场是Jr. Pee Wee级别的。我
担任headlinemen，负责客队的管理。
事情发生在第二场比赛。在头两个period时，客队已经三次touchdown了，主队仍然
nothing，明显客队比主队强很多。客队教练是个很挑剔的人，总是向我抱怨主队snap

Thistle是蒲公英一样的草本，所结的果子就是蒲公英那样的，到处飞
作trifle解得时候虽然是多用否定，但是诗人用词跟常理不同，而且这样比果子靠谱……

果那首诗的注解里确实那么说了(在此诗里"fig"是花瓣的意思)，我有八成把握这个注
解错了。
在dictionary.com里"Fig"的解释：
1. any tree or shrub belonging to the genus Ficus, of the mulberry family,
especially a small tree, F. carica, native to southwestern Asia, bearing a
turbinate or pear-shaped fruit that is eaten fresh, preserved, or dried.
2.the fruit of such a tree or shrub, or of any related species.

动：trifle, submissive, inadequate。还写过一段关于inadequacy，跟贴在后面。后
来还去重温了那篇小说。挺推荐看不动英文长篇的人看欧亨利获奖短篇集，每年出一本
书，短篇虽然不深厚广远，但很能看出作者的技巧、倾向，和时代潮流吧，哈哈这个词
傻乎乎的。

、《英汉大词典》的主编陆谷孙的人可能多一点。他俩的英语都地道得看不出一点外国
人的痕迹。说葛传槼最牛，那是《King's English》字典主编H.W. Fowler在1933年说
的，当时陆谷孙尚未出生。葛传槼给Fowler写信，挑出他字典里的几十处错误，Fowler
回信称赞：
