生给了一个棉纱做的小turtleneck,然后取了些毛做真菌培养。然后开药。
结帐，160. 40+刀的visit,40+刀的真菌培养，73刀的口服抗生素。于是俺要求
prescription回家配药。结果1800petmeds配出来11块钱+shipping...
于是再多买了一些抗生素，外用药膏，和牙刷，加上5$off coupon free shipping...

标 题: 买了本national enquirer研究了一下Jobs的狗仔照

照片应该是真的。那辆被人当作是作假证据的破车大概是别人从医院给他ride回家。他老婆送他吃早饭然后去stanford medical center开的车从尾灯形状看似乎是辆Audi。还有就是他的turtleneck的确是收在裤子里面的，外面套了个黑灰色的外套。
不过有一张Jobs的背影看上去特瘦的照片明显是PS过的。照片里有一个残趴sign，上面画的轮椅的轮子都成椭圆形了。肯定是把照片给挤扁了，好让Jobs看上去比实际瘦。
看其他的照片，Jobs并没有比上次露面显得更瘦，或是掉很多头发。人也是自己走，还跟老婆在外面吃饭，还去公司上班，今天还跟奥主席吃饭。Ruth Bader Ginsburg也是两年前胰腺癌手术，还是更烈性的那种，还是第二次得癌症，看上去比Jobs还瘦很多，现在也还在上班呢。

. Very few people wear turtleneck, and most likely will get a rejection.
Because residency is talking about fit in, wearing something differently
will be deemed as making a statement and not willing to fit in.
Same issue as high heel, many people don't like it especially in winter, but
most people still wear it to show the spirit.

我在医学院里作研究，所以每年都见过无数住院医Fellow面试，我也面试过一些申请我
们系faculty位置的临床和科研人员，绝大部分人还都是穿的黑色西装，无论男女，女
士裙装裤装都有，不过从没见过内穿turtleneck的。
当然，要想从这一片黑色的海洋里显露出你的与众不同，里面的衬衣，项链，耳环等就
显得很重要了。其实最主要就是穿出自我，穿出自信，展示你的优雅和风度。
“淡妆很淡香水”，确实非常重要。即使你平时从不化装，对自己很自信，这时也一定
要化装，增加自信，同时也是尊重面试官。我们系Chair很高较胖，在他的宽敞的办公
室里，你闻不到任何香味；但当大家坐在圆桌边讨论问题时，你就能闻到很淡很淡的淡
雅的香水味，感觉还是很不一样的。
题外话，关于面试问题，因为我们系比较重视科研，所以住院医面试时经常会被问到关
于研究的问题，如果你是PhD，还会让你谈谈你的课题和今后的目标及方向；几乎总会
问为什么选这个program；还有一个经常被问到的问题：你最喜欢什么动物，为什么？

我一直都以为毛衣的英文是sweater，那么在英国也一定通用才是，但几年前我旅
居英国时，在当地最大的百货公司，却找不到叫做“sweater”的商品，陈列许多毛衣的
架上，标示的却是“jumpers”。几天后，我还看到一家叫“Jumpers”的店，走进一看发
现原来是间毛衣专卖店，才知道在英国毛衣被称为“jumpers”。
那我们所熟知的运动（工作）外套（jumpers），在英国是叫做什么呢？毛衣专卖
店的店员说：“那是sports jacket啦！”而我其实是要找套头毛衣（turtleneck），画了
张衣领外翻的图给店员看，“啊，你要找翻领（polo-neck）的毛衣是吗？”我才终于买
到想要的东西。
英式英文中也有所谓的“sweater”，但当地人却不用这个词，到底是为什么呢？
在《牛津字典》中，这个词有着“发汗物品”的意思，以往指的是“低工资的重度劳动
工作者”（或是高劳力的人）。一直到了1828年，才又有了“促进发汗的服装”之意，
但不是指人的服装，而是给马匹穿的衣服（可能是棉被之类）。
