Univeral life 是保一辈子，感觉如果美国经济不垮掉，或者公司破产，death
benefit 可以拿到，远超交的保金，留给孩子不错。
term 是保三十年，钱大概就算扔进去了，或者可以选择拿回来，但是大概就是这些年
交的保金，感觉很不划算。 |

我之所以一直没有怎么用那个pt3 mkii是因为前owner把遥控器换成一个那种universal
的东西，我买的时候还觉得占了便宜，拿到手才发现真的很蛋痛。原厂的遥控器简单明
了，非常方便，那个univeral的设置繁琐，莫不到头脑。
两个前级的声音和功能一样，唯一我能注意到的不同就是面板设计
pt3是黑灰双色款（和1400mkii一致），pt3 mkii是纯黑款（和2140一致）
我到现在都没办法把那个遥控切换回原厂的（估计要用后面的数据接口reprogramm），
所以才一直用pt3。
卖东西的话出于为买家考虑，只能忍痛出pt3，呵呵。 |

Term Life insurance則是一種定期壽險
你說的Universal Life不是VUL是錯誤的理解
VUL全名是Variable Universal Life，是Universal Life的一種
Variable是指cash value的增值不是固定的而是變動的(所以稱variable)
通常將cash value投資於mutual fund
相對於Variable Life有一種很常見的Whole Life
則是給予cash value固定的收益，通常APY比外頭的saving來得高以吸引顧客
Universal這個字本身則是指每期的premium是靈活的
如果手頭寬裕，可以多交一些premium
反之如果手頭緊，可以skip幾期，premium會由已有的cash value暫時支付
如果不是Universal的Permanent Life則沒有這個feature
Permanent Life的好處是cash value以後可以以loan的型式提出來
如此gain不用交稅

。当然你强调显性指导的重要性也无可厚非，我感觉中国的教育体系大都是显性指导。
隐性和显性拿写诗来对比。
传统英文诗讲究韵律的齐整性，新诗不再这些形式的约束，事实上新诗已经被我们普遍
认可。
隐性学习虽然缺乏明显的语法指导，但是符合老乔的自然语法生成理论的。老乔认为人
天生具有一种言语习得机制，就是一种 univeral grammar, 无论 performance 的形式
是怎样的，无论表现形式是英语还是其它什么语言。
当然我还是承认显性指导的重要性，比如说我主张在学校里要设立语法课。( 目前形式
来看，似乎有人主张，语法课取消 )
要学好语言，我感觉隐性知识是精髓，显性知识不可或缺。

supporting letter。不知道是否要在开头介绍“assistant research professor”？
感觉这个title好像有点。。。
如果不写，直接说是某某journal的editor话，把letter放到某个university的
letterhead里又显的很不搭，因为介绍中没有提到与这个univerity的关系
而且结尾署名，用Dr.好呢还是Prof.好？

conversion were significant, it would have been a univeral thing instead of
a thing only happened to chinese applicants, and we should also have seen a
huge jump in eb2i inventory prior to 2005, which is not the case. I think O
