字再度登上榜首，三度蝉联纽约市最受欢迎婴儿名字。
根据市长办公室消息，星期三市长彭博和健康部部长法利宣布，Isabella和Jayden连续
三年成为纽约市最受欢迎的婴儿名字。报告显示，仅2011年一年，纽约就新增了623名
Isabella女婴，其中以西裔居多，另有851名Jayden男婴问世，主要是黑裔。

今年曼哈坦的國慶煙火將出現近年來最炫麗的畫面，哈德遜河面發射將在25分鐘的時間
內，發射4萬發煙火，在河面1000呎爆發的煙火有些呈現水母狀，有些如花蝴蝶，更特
別的是有一枚煙火有如眨著眼睛的笑臉。
為梅西百貨公司籌備這個煙火大秀的企畫者，挖空心思，前往世界各地採購有創意的國
慶煙火，籌辦者前往的採購地包括中國、葡萄牙、西班牙和馬爾他。
籌辦者將在西24街道42街的哈德遜河面，分別從四艘駁船發射煙火，發射煙火的同時，
葛萊美(Grammy)音樂獎得主Usher將擔任DJ播放愛國歌曲和流行音樂。
這場煙火大秀的共同設計人蘇沙 (Gary Souza)表示：「這場煙火秀一開始，可能看來
有些混亂，但是會愈來愈精彩。」
曼哈坦中城帝國大廈的燈光最近升級為LED燈光，在發射煙火時，帝國大廈的LED燈光也
將配合展出燈光秀。
為了舉辦這次煙火秀，60位煙火技術人員整個周末在史泰登島進行準備工作。為了安全
起見，他們的工作地點保密。

非盈利机构教育政策学会(Educational Policy Institute)的报告称，各学院以及大学若要在经济危机中保证教育质量，就必须考虑增加收费。该机构计算未来几年内将学费提高25%，能给学校多带来10亿到20亿元的经费。
报告称，鉴于每次经济衰退都会导致入学量增加，加之政府和个人资助减少，加拿大高校必须考虑增加收费。同时，要削减高酬高级员工的数量，增加对学生的助学金援助。
报告称好消息是许多加拿大人承担得起涨学费。"考虑通货膨胀因素以及税收抵免，加拿大学生平均一年学费在10年间只增加了90元(从3985元到4066元)，而家庭收入的增长远不止这些。"报告的合著者Alex Usher说。 |

行，无疑会促使IBM等大公司招用新留学生，一边克扣他们的收入，一边替他们办理公
司移民。
短期看似乎是增加了新留学生的就业机会，长期看将阻碍本国公民和学生就业，也将引
起新一轮的大公司裁员。大公司将以办理移民为幌子，大量廉价招募新学生，在办理完
移民后把这些要求加薪的熟练工一脚踢开，继续招收新毕业的留学生。
再假如，谷歌等跨国公司把移民作为公司福利把亚洲的高级员工移民过来，又怎么办？
长此以往，加国经济要完蛋！

【明報專訊】本報掌握可靠消息，近日大溫爆出有業主突然發現自己的物業已經「出售
」、田土廳的登記屋主已易人的詐騙案，已經高達6宗，在溫哥華、列治文及本那比皆
有懷疑「中招」個案，三市警方均在調查；相對之下，過去18年來田土廳處理過1500萬
宗業權交易，只有2宗涉及詐騙，因此近日接連發生6宗，是非比尋常之事。
有消息稱，有關騙案可能涉及俄羅斯及中東裔有組織犯罪分子；而事件已經引起本地業
主恐慌，近日到田土廳查詢的市民大幅度上升，單是新西敏的辦事處每日查詢人數幾達
200人(見另稿)。
溫哥華市警局昨日證實，正在調查一宗由房地產律師厄舍(Ron Usher)揭發、有犯罪集
團涉及產權詐騙的案件，負責調查案件的探員默瑟(Dave Mercer)透露，調查進展非常
順利，可能很快就可以對外公布詳情。
知情人士告訴本報，溫市警局後來帶了兩名懷疑有關人士面談，並已經初步認定被詐騙
產權的房屋高達6間，分別位於溫哥華、列治文及本那比，也因此，本那比及列治文皇
家騎警已加入調查行列。
