So now with this pre-approval, I am searching and researching the engagement
ring which for the first time I want to spend money on something that has only
emotional value but needs a serious amount of monetary input. Men do change:-)
My father measures everything in terms of meat. Meat to him is like an
undepreciateble legal tender. I believe that he would be angry at a Ton of

My project is:
in unix, there is a database containing data (of course), ususally
can search database by SQL. and there is a web server.
Goal: let users using Brouserw to access the database, better yeet,
to update database.
How can this be done?
my plan: wrinting a CGI in perl as an interface to take query from
users and pass it to the databasse.
Questions:
any other way to do it? or my way is the best? (I doubt it since you
guys must have a better one and please share with me. Thanks.)

I think that is basically a "lock" problem, and ususally it is not trivial
without any hardware support. On the other hand, you may consider some
operations will not be interrupted, e.g. , read/write to one bit. So,
starting from there, you can have something. E.g., one says "intend to write
", one follows "acknowledge to write", then one writes.

to 8 pm including 1 hour lunch. So it may be 3 or 4 months in a year for
people in the cpa firm work over time. And i am only work for med size cpa
firms, and i don't know how busy in big 4.

companies reply on cat modeling because regulators buy it, not because cat
modeling is better. AIR, RMS, EQE models are all garbage if you know what
exactly they are doing internally.
if you are a student track actuary, you may not want to pursue a cat
modeling career. and companies ususally don't recruit actuaries to do cat
modeling - totally different skill sets. cat modeling requires sql
operating and programming the most; and other data handling skills.

Not familiar with SOA track, but for CAS track, ACAS ususally make around 70
-90K in TX assuming you have 3-5 year experience.

Given the data, it is not clear which one happens first.

Thank you guys.
I use PGEX2T vector so GST is on the N-terminus.
I normally do 100ml culture size. Here is how I did this:
1. small culture of the bacteria from glycerol stock O/N, about 6-8ml.
2. transfer the small culture to 100ml 2xYTA medium in the next day morning
, shaking at 300rpm, 37degrees.
3. it ususally takes about 1hr 40min - 2 hrs to have an OD600 around 0.75.
4. add IPTG (stock 100mM) 100ul to get a final concentration of 0.1mM.

to make 140k in 6 years if i just stay in my field. Trying to find a way to
make over 300k in short time...

still taking exams in the actuarial field, you rarely ever work overtime (
ususally btwn 37.4 to 45 hours). And you have paid study hours (company pays
you to go home and study). After you are done with exam, most non-
consulting actuaries work about 40-50hrs a week.

What i really want is a Master Degree, but ususally there is no scholarship
for Master program.
So if I got enrolled in a Ph.D program, how's the chance that I could
graduate earlier with a Master degree? How about those scholarship and
stipend I already received as a Ph.D candidate?
Anyone has similiar expereince?

to get 90% in the test.........that means about 2 entire weeks or one hour
everyday after work for a semester....
I'd like to know how many people pass it with a higher percentage within

waiting for response. It may take two or more weeks for them to figure out
if they have to conduct a second-round flyout. To be honest, I think your
chance is slim. But it does not hurt of trying.

Try to see if you can get one more week. They might ask you which
universities you are waiting for and whether there are some particular

gression unless there are theoretical reasons for not doing so. you may want

program. I did not contact them, because I thought it was useless. Does
anyone know anything about this kind of programs?
And, when is the best time to tell the school district I need H1 sponsorship
during job interview? I tend to ask them first: Do you sponsor H1 visa? and

(his/her recommendation is the key) unless you are already a star of your
field in graduate school. The second job and jobs after are your own
responsibility.
This is what my boss told me when I was about to graduate. He landed me in

For curriculum, below are two examples. Apparently, life in program A will
be easier than program B, as there are less floor months and unit months.
As of call schedule, there could be Q3call, Q4call, Q3 is definately busier
than Q4, that means you ahve to be on call every 3 days, you are working on
regular schedule on the two days in between. Also the frequency of long call
matters, that means overnight call, usually happened on weekends. now there

Sorry, I cann't input Chinese here. I am working in ICU night shift. Started
intern one month ago, so far I like this job and my mentor is very nice and
instructive. Here in ICU, no PCT, two Patients, total patients care.
Ususally I work 2 night shifts in a row. On the second shift, my feet start
aching. After I finish the second shift, I nearly cannot walk anymore. I
have to sleep and rest on the bed all the day. NEED suggestion and HELP.

In our hospital, discharge order ususally made in AM, before 7pm, pt usually
r gone. Once discharge order is made, not my business any more, its case
manager and nursing staff.
for my part, if day shift did not finish their job, I will ask them finish
before they leave. In a word, they can not go home until their job is done.
Any issues? just go with chief, this is chief supposed to do, that's chief's
job, why do we need a chief? because we need someone to clean the mass:-)
