上周utc mall的grand opening，有两男两女的小合唱，捧着歌本从游乐场唱到food
court再唱回来，我娃跟着走了一圈听，回家就吵着要再去听。
人家当然不能天天在那里唱，我娃又去了几次，没碰到，有点失望，好在新的
playground好玩，所以也很开心。
有时候还会念叨。
我记得都是些圣诞歌曲，不知道有什么地方听现场的？去年在balbao park遇到过一次。

从二月中开始华人动员起来反对SCA5 (“Skin Color Act”)以来，我们全美的华人，
尤其是加州的同胞，作出了非常积极和辛苦的的努力。成效十分显著，我们若继续努力
，是有望让SCA5胎死腹中的。
有网友提到，在过去的一个月来，我们在英文主流媒体方面没有突破，恐怕只能在共和
党控制的右翼媒体才有希望。 今天，我对英文媒体对SCA5的报道做出了一个初步地分
析和总结.主要结论如下：
第一、当SCA5在加州参议院通过时，加州各主要英文报纸都有报道。亚裔团体最近的示
威、抗议活动，尤其是3月9日的Townhall Meeting,加州的部分媒体有所报道。
第二、不是加州各主要英文报纸都一边倒地支持SCA5。UC San Diego,还有比较左翼的

Curriculum,或ESC课）都是fully credential的老师，别的学区一般不是。例如Poway
有所学校的美术课是我一个做工程师的朋友去volunteer教的。
之所以要请家长支持是因为7，8年前，由于经济不好，学校需要砍掉ESC的课，后来学
区家长自发组织了一个筹款基金会来帮学区筹钱，这样孩子还是能够有ESC的课。如果
每个孩子都有完整的ESC的课的话，学区需要筹到2MM的钱，算下来每个孩子需要$800元。
Prop 30的通过并不意味着ESC teacher的职位就保住了。和7，8年前一样，留住ESC老
师的唯一办法就是靠家长的支持---羊毛出在羊身上。不过学区的人上次也肯定的告诉
我们了，学区不会降低他们在ESC老师方面的预算。（ESC有一部分的钱是学区出的，另
一部分是家长支持的。）
DMUSD每所学校有专门的的Science和Technology Labs和老师，这个许多其他的学区也

4S RANCH — A bank in 4S Ranch was robbed Thursday afternoon, sheriff’s Lt.

robbed a University City produce market and threatened workers with a knife.
The man forced an employee at Bristol Farms on Genesee Avenue to open the
safe, then he escaped with cash about 10:30 p.m., police said.
The robber ran into a nearby canyon and a police helicopter crew helped
search for an hour, but failed to find him.
