Seattle在美国几个城市和国内的科
研机构学习，因此想出租我的公寓为9月－12月。
具体位置为4801 24TH AVE NE APT 531, SEATTLE, WA 98105，Trailside Apartment在
学校的东北面一点，在U－
Village对面（具体可以Google Map），此社区几乎有一半是中国人。这里比较方便的
是U-Village有Safeway和QFC两家
超市，对于刚到此地的没车同学基本可以解决生活原料问题，同时U-Village也是个非
常大的购物中心，包括Apple Store
等等各式品牌都有。而且旁边就是372和68路车站，可以直接坐车去学校，非常方便。
如果想骑车上学，公寓旁就是
BurkeGilman Trail直达学校。
我的公寓是两个人合租的，室友为UW化学系的研究生，毕业于北大。我们的公寓为两室
一厅一卫一个厨房。我出租的是我
的房间，相对大些。房间内有个很大的壁橱，同时提供Queen size床（床单被套自带）

UW的part time和full time没区别，只是多了自行决定修课数量的自由。
所以拿UW计算机Master degreee的，或者是professional degree,或者是非Seattle的
分校学位 |

趴车比较便宜。
如果在学校的时间长一点的话， 你还是在学校附近找房子吧， uw晚上不是很安全，
你可以问下学校晚上的shuttle是怎么样的。
现在seattle冬天比较冷， 下雪很多bus都会改路线， 不要选比较偏僻的地方。 |

uw seattle cs 有master, 不过很难进，是个top 10 的program ，而且每年招的
人很少。 那里好像有professional 的program, 是master的,一般自己付学费的，你可
以问问。 |

uw不是太难了么……呵呵。
psu是波特兰州立，比起西雅图大学来起码有博士点，是研究型的。波特兰还有个
Oregon Health and Science University，排名和wsu是一样的，有的小方向还挺强，
就是听起来像个卫校，呵呵。
不过我就想申请master将来工作，所以还是考虑将来在西雅图找工作哪个更好。比较现
实的问题…… |

Wedgwood，View Ridge, Bryant，Laurelhurst 的学区都不错，从小学到高中都有15%
－20%的Asian。有人知道这些学校里的中国人多吗？课后活动多吗？老大下年要上K了。
我也看了大家推荐的Bellevue，每天要过520那个桥会很堵吗？不过觉得Bellevue的房
价太高了点还要付过桥费会吃不消。Bothell的话路远加堵车，估计最少也要45分钟。
总的来说希望通勤时间是30分钟以内，4BR2BA，2 car garage, 预算是5，60万，不过
死撑一下或许70万也可以。大家请给点意见吧。 |

我已经超级惊讶和满意了。毕竟可以蹭到UW的名声
而其实UW不是university system，而是multi-campus university；所以法理上就是一
所学校。。。

的HR都知道的。
楼主真没必要花几万块钱读这个学位。建议楼主现在直接找工作就行。你现在已经能拿
到面试就说明你的背景OK，面试表现好就应该胜算很大了。读个UW-Tacoma的master，
考虑要花的两年时间，和两年之后的CS的job market, 真的很难说。有可能两年之后你
会发现有了个CS master degree 反而还不一定有现在找工作容易。
My point is: 楼主其实背景和能力现在就可以找工作。只是被学位的魔咒限制觉得非
得读个CS master。其实一个CS 学位does not mean too much at all:) 楼主需要内推
的话可以PM我，我可以内推我司在西雅图的分部。刚好我也在西雅图，以前也是
Bioinfo专业的 |

发帖数: 334 | 45 我提出让学校给我办绿卡。平常给我renew h1b的人请教了UW系统的律师，说是系统有policy不给staff办。我们学校其实没有明文规定。而且我看到UW-Madison的policy里面明明有写““The University may pursue permanent residency on behalf of certain individuals who do not appear to meet the requirements for the above listed categories, including certain non-instructional and non-research employees.”
我已经把这个发给我老板看了。但是她想让我自己打听打听有没有具体的例子，什么样的staff position等等。
