It is basically a venodyne. In the US, it is used to prevent the formation
of deep vein thrombus in hospitalized patients who will be bed bound for an
extended period of time. Venous thrombus almost never form in hands. Your
friend need to figure out the cause of swelling, not to exert external
pressure. |

would advise against anticoagulant such warfarin. Thrombus will eventually
dissolve or scar down. It takes time and can be frustrating. If she also has
venous incompetence, compression stocking helps, 20-30 mmhg is standard.
DVT is another animal, treatment is different, make sure she doesn't have
that. |
