流技巧方面占的比重不到百分之十，百分之七十是语速语调等跟情感有关的non-verbal

没有听说过明州有AIG program，一搜索好像是北卡才有的program。我们在明州，但不
在双城。说说我们local的情况。公立小学时2-3年级开始筛选 elementary gifted
services。分 Verbal（reading、social science） 和 non-verbal(math,science)两
个类别。每个孩子到了那个年龄，班上老师和学校就会组织学生参加这2个筛选考试，
如果达标了，父母就会收到letter通知你家孩子已经获得gifted services资格（免费
）。下一学年开始，你的孩子和班上其他所有进入gifted services的同学一起，就会
额外开小灶，进入gifted services。每周1-2次。其实就是当天上课的某个时间段，有
专门负责gifted services的老师，召集这些gifted kids一起单独在另外教室学习一会
。结束后，孩子们继续回到班上、完成当天的教学内容。

average score. 100pts in GRE verbal. That is insane.
I recalled 4 or 5 years ago, when we were taking GRE tests, if somebody
got a 600+ verbal, he would be our hero. hehe
BTW, I dont see why in other countries, for example india, such kind of
cheatings is not caught. It is a good idea for ETS to have computerized
tests but seems they should put more efforts into updating their database. |

and when these kids apply to colleges, it's the SAT score where it counts!!
Just to give an example, SAT score for 2007-2008 (from newest public data
available):
Torrey Pine High School: Math 576 Verbal 613
Scripps Ranch High School: Math 565 Verbal 535
And then you have to look at the AP passing rate and college admission rate
especially to UC schools and top tier schools. |
