Second try to boot to safe mode with network and load an antivirus
This can be done by hitting f8 at the beginning.
Third.
Modern computer can be boot from a USB drive or cd. And then clean virus.
This is complicated. For pro use. |

I have received a mail with attachment named "navidad.exe"
and unfortunately i opened it and i think this should be
virus file.
Now i cannot open any of my application software and
the message come out "winsvrc.exe" file cannot be found
!!!!!!
And i search through all the computer in my laboratory but
there are no such files in all the computer.
If you know how to do, please help me.

The virus has extension name .pif
it is a melacious one as it killed my Norton AntiVirus first, when I installed
Macfee 4.5.1, it also kill macfee... it generated a lot .exe.vir files for
a lot of exe files in my system, I searched and deleted them, my PC looks fine
Then I went to symantec.com and download the program to kill it, it runs

I think I did a smart thing by partitioning my disc, so I installed win2k
again. Most of my data are in other discs, and my file in my documents can
be retrieved it seems.
still trying to kill the virus... but somehow can't get into safemode. I
tried to fix my win2k using emergency repair disc from another computer which
has win2k installed on E drive, the repair process installed antoher WINNT on
my F drive. Now, when I boot, I have to choose between two W2k, now to delete |

I guess the main reason is I used Serv-U (Ver 3.0)
on my lab machine, and today when I found a warning
on my screen by NAV that such virus detected on
a dll file in ServU folder.. I tried to delete it
or use NAV to quanrantee it, "access to the file
denied" I know it must be running.
Then I restarted and enter the safe mode, strangely
I couldn't detect it by NAV then. Is it due to I didn't
run Serv-U in this mode? I did some regedit thing
to stop servU when system |

out Norton could not clean or delete it from my pc. And more strange is that I
