on that. vitiligo is a type of hypopigmentation (low-color).
"In vitiligo, pigment cells (melanocytes) are destroyed. the greater the
pigment loss, the fewer the number of melanocytes. Vitiligo, present in
approximately 1% of the population, may be associated with hyperthyroidism and
hypothyroidism, pernicious anemia, diabetes mellitus, and Addison's disease."

urgency in your description.
For your first question, I don't think scratches would cause vitiligo.
Occasionally, if you break the pigment cells it might present as a lighter
scar that could be mistakenly diagnosed as vitiligo.
What I have often heard is that if you take too much Chinese herbal
medicines, they may damage your liver or kidney function. I have not seen

urgency in your description.

我面部和脖子受过白癜风（简称V）五年的困扰。现在已经恢复正常。我写了一本书分
享我的康复过程和介绍目前疗法。题目是My Victory against Vitiligo。可以在
Amazon上找到。需要的同学可以去查找。
目前美国很多的皮肤医生会告诉你没什么有效手段，告诉你不用管，只不过是不好看，
不影响健康。也不传染。因为V的病例不多，医生接触的机会较少，所以他们一般懒得
去跟进当前的最新动态。知识还停留在N年前的皮质类固醇药膏和PUVA（补骨脂加光疗
）的手段上。而且美国医生知识单一，很多小诊所的皮肤医生只管皮肤，对内科的东西
不懂。
中国的医生呢，因为病例多，恨不得逮住狠狠宰，一个月几千的药费，几千的光疗费。

白癜风，（英语：Vitiligo）又称白蚀症和白斑，是一种后天、慢性皮肤疾病。其主要
症状为皮肤上出现形状不规则的浅色或白色斑驳。发病率为1%左右，但非白色人种的病
人患者由于肤色深，症状更为显著。白癜风不传染，患者无身体不适或机能失常。但在
有些国家和文化中，白癜风患者可能因为外观异常而感到自卑，或在社交中遭到偏见。
医学界对白癜风的病因和致病机理还不清楚。目前初步认为和基因、环境和免疫系统失

特别担心是白癜风，英文查了一下，是leucoderma 也有叫vitiligo. 我们约了附近的
皮肤专科，但最早要到4月底了，接电话的人也不给确认医生有没有看这个病的经验。

度。他的怪癖之一，整容已是证据确凿但是否如媒体宣传之“numerous”，未可知。他
对儿童态度，仔细分析来被人诬陷骗
取钱财的可能性居多。他的白皮肤，确确是因为vitiligo，已有定论，却是最近才知道
。反思以前的成见，不由惭愧narrow
minded。其实我们这样的群体又何尝不被视为异类怪癖。以前的我哪里来的moral

世界只有他一个漂白了!可是我们除了他就再没有见过或听说过其他黑人"漂白"的例子!
而事实上，当今世界根本就没有如此彻底的"漂白技术！想想，我们黄种人想白一点都

some nature herb. I know it is same thing in China.
Surgery is another way.
