从日常英语词汇来说，英语最接近德语。
从整体词汇来源来说，拉丁贡献最大（绝大多数不通过法语），其次是希腊语，最次是
（主要是从Vulgar Latin衍变出来的）法语改造词汇。拉丁和希腊语给予英语的词汇
组合力量是最大的。不过，大量的当代法语词汇已经被认为也是英语的一部分。
从发音来看，英语和德语的consonant的比例最接近，大概占40%左右。美语发音听起来
最接近德语，很可能是由于德裔是美国欧裔里最大的人群，而且他们在（美语发音的非
官方标准地区）中西部比例最大。去掉通过法语改造后来的词汇，英语的发音和拼写规

一篇彻底改变美国亚洲文化学院UACA同事对毛泽东看法的文章，这篇文章让我对美国的
宗教文化有了深刻的理解，这也就是美国文化的根源，也明白了为什么美国多次在人权
问题上为难中国。而中国的共产主义信仰在国内则似乎逐渐成了一种形式。
2006年我换了一个工作团队。跟几个美国亚洲文化学院UACA的同事“旷日持久”的争论
了近两个月，关于毛泽东。 其中一位最“顽固”的， 渐渐的，他有些怀疑自己一直以
来的认为。导致他最后转变的是毛主席的一篇文章------《纪念白求恩》。把我们几次
争论整理了一下，贴在下面。
同事：毛的共产主义是灾难。共产主义失败了。没有人再相信它。
我：我不这样认为。
