I do not know.
What I am thinking now is, since in liquid, the distribution of molecules
is random, therefore, the "packing" of molecules should not be a factor.
Therefore, this leads to the assumption that the absorption wavelength of
liquids comes individual molecules.
However, what lets the individual molecule have color preference? Why
the absorption wavelength of metals is not governed by this molecular
absorption preference?

I understand why crystals can show different colors, the optical bands
play the critical role there. But to liquids, I have no idea at all.
What determines the absorption wavelength? molecule size? or whatever?

I don't think anyone changed the wavelength. But how/where to change/check
the normalization wavelength? What the normalization wavelength should be? I
just want to double check.
Do you mean "turn off detector"? We already turned off and on many times,
and it didn't help.
The wavelength is 270. But the same situation happened at 254 also.

Let's focus on the middle contact only with bias. Here at T=20C we have had
a lasing center wavelength with 1560nm. If I increase T=40C using TEC for
the whole laser substrate, what lasing wavelength would you expect? I think
you will say the lasing wavelength at T=40C will be a red shift (lower
energy of light), right?
I will do this test later to see the lasing wavelength is having a blue
shift or red shift when I have a higher T.

1. The signal strength that penetrates through your cloth decreases
exponentially as the thickness of your cloth increases. Usually the
penetration depth is on the same order of signal wavelength. For radio

老板购要再购买一片商业的 MQW InP wafer. 但是商业公司给你的wafer信息就是
Photoluminescence (PL) peak在什么波长, 其他的参数人家不管。
我们已经购买了一片,PL wavelength 在1509.1nm. Spectral width at FWHM: 1440nm
-1542nm. 然后我们制作了一个 1.0mm long FP laser, 首先测 ASE spectrum (低于
阈值电流), 发现峰值波长在1520nm, 然后多加电流让laser 发激光,lasing
wavelength 就在1515nm.
实际上我们期望一个在1535nm左右发激光的laser diode. 那么问题是我们购买的wafer
的 PL peak wavelength 不合适?还是怎么样? 如果是wafer问题,一般来说制作一个
普通的FP laser diode, 希望激射波长在Lambda 1, 而wafer 的PL peak 在Lambda 2
,他们之间有什么经验性的公式或者有什么一个差值范围可以follow吗?

我也想说,印象里好象见过的RAMAN的数据主要还是打在一个点上,SIGNAL VS
WAVELENGTH的图多。
依我的粗陋理解,象楼主这样用来做IMAGING的,似乎应该是知道要找SIGNAL VS
WAVELENGTH里的某一个具体FEATURE之后,再用这个WAVE LENGTH来做,以探测这个特定
成分的SPACIAL DISTRIBUTION吧?
象楼主这样上来就做IMAGING,而且也没有说为什么用这个WAVELENGTH做的,似乎很难
想出来这么做的物理意义是什么啊

Foveon sensor缺点太多。对红绿蓝敏感度差别太大。由于上层对红光吸收,最底层红
光sensor敏感度极低,红色和绿色噪音严重影响传感器整体性能。结果是Sigma的高感
惨不忍睹。
传感器的未来还得靠直接用光子能量来分辨色彩,就是在单个像素上做spectroscopy。
Baceolus sensor早在搞wavelength detecting sensor了,可能进展还不行。

exitation wavelength, simply because the excitation is strictly controlled
by the sysytem, but the emission is not. The emission wavelength is mainly
controled by the chromophore whichever you use.
However, for the convenience of most user, the labeling of the channel are
often changed to its target chromophores, for example, DAPI, FITC,and TRITC,
which is also appropriate.

You can scan the OD of the culture by using UV-Vis spectrometer, and then
pick up the wavelength at peak. Determine the CDW (cell dry weight) Vs. OD
at selected wavelength, and make a curve.
For some microbes, it's different. For some green microalgae, some one uses
OD770. For cyanobacteria, people use OD750 or OD730. For some orange conidia
from the fungus, OD420 is used.
