morning (from 8:15 to 8:45, I think), when Jimmy Carter answered
several questions on the WBUR, the NPR radio in Boston. It could be
a taped re-broadcast instead of a live interview. I failed to find
the text or the audio files at the website. So here are what my memory
thinks he said, not necesarily what he means.

2月4日为世界癌症日。科学家强调，预防是降低癌症发病率的有效措施，可以少量资金
投入而收到挽救几百万生命的良好效果，但是人们在观念中长期忽视对癌症的预防。
世界卫生组织的统计数据表明，目前全世界每年新增1400万癌症患者，按照现在的癌症
发病趋势，2030年癌症患者将会每年新增2100万。
据法新社 2月3日报导，世界卫生组织国际癌症研究机构（IARC）主任克里斯托弗·威
尔德（ Christopher Wild）解释：“按照现在的患病趋势，我们估计20年后的情况会
更加严峻；许多国家的癌症人数会增加一倍，尤其是资源有限、中低收入的国家。”

，可活力消失，最后长期摇摆于不死不活的临界点。纽约靠着对全世界插管吸血，
都破烂的跟个第三世界国家似的。
左派虚伪是骨子里面的。新英格兰长期极左，波士顿南区的dorchester黑人这五十年状
况有任何改善吗？改善的只是左逼知识分子的自我感觉而已。哈佛的文科教授们要不要
排队去dorchester一帮一扶贫、送教育？WBUR电台要不要深入基层，走进Boston？谁也
不去，还不都是住在I-95西边的豪宅享受？

俺无意中听到一个本周四NPR在全国播出关于SCAR5的访谈节目（http://onpoint.wbur.org/2014/04/24/affirmative-action-college-california-race）. 俺虽不是加州人，但听到节目嘉宾UCLA教授（Gary Orfield）的混淆视听和颠倒黑白仍是义愤填膺。节目16分钟处他称加州大学系统招生现状是种族隔离（SEGRAGATION）。他说亚裔的述求是基于撒谎（LYING）并竭力抹黑。马上就有一个木头木脑的中西部红脖打进热线电话说受够了当地的越南裔。现在NPR该网页已有500多条对该节目话题的评论。希望有才有志之士去该网页留言澄清事实反驳该教授的胡言乱语，让广大亚裔的声音也能被听见。请快手网友们把本帖转到其它版，谢谢！ |

州選民公投來決定。
據WBUR電台今年1月的民調，超過2/3的麻州選民贊成提高年收入超過百萬元者的稅率，
將多徵的稅收用來補助麻州的交通和教育費用。
民調中發現，即使是共和黨員，也有過半數贊成此法案。
「百萬富翁稅」法案主要由勞工、宗教，和社區團體支持，要求修改目前麻州納稅人同
一的5.1% 所得稅率。從2019年起，年所得收入超過100萬元者 ，除了一般麻州所得稅
率，另有4%的附加稅。
據麻州官方資料，麻州現有0.5%、約1.96萬名納稅者的年所得超過100萬元。如果徵收
百萬富翁稅，麻州一年可多徵20億的稅款。
反對者認為，此法案有害麻州企業，也不利就業機會。麻州若通過百萬富翁法將迫使富
人搬離麻州。
但支持者表示，美國有許多州對富人徵收9%，或更高的稅率，也未看百萬富翁大出走現

拿到了一个amazon的offer，钱比我现在的工资高几万，并且说6个月后给办绿卡。但是
我很犹豫要不要去。
现在的工作比较轻松，公司也是500强。我和同事关系很好，老板看重我，已经给我申
绿卡了。更重要的是我感觉很稳定。IT公司我就担心裁员，尤其现在世界经济前景不好
。同工资相比，我觉得拿到绿卡是最重要的。现在工作的缺点是总是维护那几个软件，
学不到东西。而且公司所在城市太小，几乎见不到华人，更别说交女友了。
去亚马逊的好处是可以学到新的东西。而且西雅图华人比较多。我家人都希望我去西雅
图，担心我呆在现在的地方一辈子都找不到女朋友。说实话我也很着急。如果在现在的
地方，等拿到绿卡都三十好几了，再想换工作找朋友也没有现在容易了。
我经验不多，请大家帮我出出主意，非常感谢！
