On Monday, November 22, 2004 Sylvia Hillebrand set out alone on a hike from
a trailhead near the Trillium Lake snow park area. Hillebrand was wearing a
winter coat and tennis shoes; she was not dressed appropriately for the
winter weather conditions.
On Tuesday Hillebrand became very cold, wet and tired. She sat down near
Devil's Peak, about 9 miles south of HWY 26.

hour of waiting. Can I wear a piece old clothing and shortly I start I just
throw it off the streets? Would that be littering or a lot of people are
doing that?

possible today. it was warm from the start, then got pretty hot and there
was little shade. ended up with 3:15:20. on the bright side, at least I
avoided burning out, so this ain't bad for a tune up race. Next race in July
. Lesson: you can't fight the weather. sometimes, you gotta let it go.

Basically, if you wear singlets at the race start, have not warmed up, and
yet are not shivering, it's too warm for the marathon.:)

The first 4 miles was a bit sluggish. I didn't feel all that well and
dropped back in the 3:10 pace group (which was running faster than 3:10 pace

worried about-:)
Have you thought about doing several weeks of base training, which almost
does not include any speed work except with a low heart rate?
When I was running with baiji yesterday, I am very impressed by his patience
, which he said is similar to the way Mark Allen trains-:)
I would highly recommend including the base training for a marathon-:)

quite sorry about the missing BQ. but I think you made a right decision

heat is the biggest enemy for marathon. (so think about Beijing/Athens
Olympic
again.. :),

发帖数: 4651 | 10 Congrats on finishing FM in a hot weather, you should feel good about it,
and I think you took the right strategy not to fight it too hard to get
yourself seriously injured.
If BQ is such a must-do for you, have you consider some of the downhill
courses? People in my running club are talking about Steamtown in Oct.
Personally, I would never consider a downhill course because I don't think
my knees can hold up, either do I have BQ dream (I'm a slowpoke).

opposed to the mental burn out. Last
fall I pushed myself so hard in bay state marathon that I didn't feel like
running a fast marathon for a little
while. It was more exhausting mentally than physically. This time, at least
I'm still mentally fresh and hungry
for more.:)
I have looked up many marathon races, investigated the courses and weather
etc. I don't want an entirely
downhill course though - that's a bit cheating.:) |

running with a Danish guy from the medical school, who is quite a good
runner. When he was a teenager in Denmark, he had trained in an elite
program for cyclists. They would train from New year's day to October during
the year, and no alcohol is allowed in those 10 months. Eventually he
figured that he wouldn't make it to the very top level in cycling and

比如说有的雪场，海拔差可以差3000尺，base在下雨，中间雨夹雪，最顶上下雪
主要还是要对local weather pattern熟悉，然后根据天气预报加上自己的经验做综合

就说这个weather predict程序吧。
在一定时间
不同的zip code的天气数据就好像一条记录。如果只关心这个信息，ADO有点overkill.
但是很多zipe code 的天气数据就是个典型的表格了。这就是典型的ADO应用了。
如果是不同时间同一地点的天气数据也是很好的ADO应用。这可以用于天气发展趋势分析
