据彭博社报道，北京凯文德信教育科技股份有限公司2月同意支付4000万美元（约
合人民币2.53亿元）将瑞德大学（Rider University）下属的威斯敏斯特合唱音乐学院
（Westminster Choir College）、威斯敏斯特音乐学校（Westminster Conservatory
of Music）和威斯敏斯特继续教育学院（Westminster Continuing Education）收至麾
下。
凯文教育在一则公告中介绍说，上述三所学院专业从事音乐艺术专业的高等教育，
其中威斯敏斯特合唱音乐学院成立于1926年，约有300名本科在校生和100名研究生在校
生，教职人员与在校生的比例约为1：6；威斯敏斯特音乐学校成立于1970年，约有120

事情发生在1944年的加州洛杉矶南边的Westminster小镇，Mendez夫妇送他们的孩子去
一所新开的小学去上学，可是学校拒收，而让他们把孩子送到专门的“墨西哥学校”
Mexican School去上学。在经过交涉后，校方愿意给予优待，特别录取他们的孩子。在
经过再三考虑后，Mendez夫妇决定不接受校方的录取，而决定要为所有遭受不公平待遇
的孩子争取他们的权利。他们与其他拉美裔Latino家长联合起来，代表大约五千名学生
，向Westminster等四个学区提出起诉。
这个案子的结果最终结束了隔离但平等政策。华人终于可以参加白人的公校，版上那些

亚特兰大市区及近郊有近30所能提供高中教育的私立学校，其中有住宿条件的7-8所。
在这近30所学校中，比较出名的就要数Westminster。这所学校每年都有学生考上美国
著名大学，如哈佛，耶鲁和普林斯顿等；但是这所学校的要求却是比较高，它只录取
SSAT(类似于中国的中考）考试成绩在前百分之十的学生。她的学费每年也要2万多美元
左右，而且还不提供住宿。很多私立学校没有面试要求，顶多也就是电话面试，而
Westminster要求考生到学校面试，这对大陆同学来说很困难。 综合来看，这所学校不
错但是很不容易进。Westminster毕业生考进名大学的比例比一般公立中学的都要高。 |

这件往事我是听对我有很大帮助和影响的一位美国老弟兄K讲的。
K跟赵天恩是Westminster神学院的（同时期的）同学。那时候K跟赵天恩
都是年轻的神学生，Westminster还有其他一些中国神学生。（Westminster
神学院曾经为华人教会培养出赵天恩，陈济民，林慈信，周永健，苏颖智，
张麟至。。。等等一代又一代的牧师和神学教育者，今天仍然有赵刚[小灶]
傅希秋，熊焱[现已转学]等等年轻一代的中国神学生在那里学习。）
赵天恩有个特殊的手艺，就是会给人理发。神学生都是蛮穷的，所以大家
都愿意找赵天恩免费理发。K当然也不例外。但是赵天恩有个“坏习惯”，
就是给人理发的时候喜欢给人讲中国的事情和他自己对中国的远象，有时
候理到一半，他还会停下来很激动地讲中国，中国的教会，中国的未来，
福音在中国。。。请他理发的人于是不得不恭听他的讲论，一直到他讲完
道理完发。K也就是这样被从“头”“灌输”，潜移默化近朱者赤，开始
也对中国有了“ |

girl from Westminster, CO. At about 1:00 pm today (10/7), the missing girl's
back pack and water bottle were found in Superior. It is also my
understanding that law enforcement was canvassing the area. With all this
activity happening around our community today, we both want to acknowledge
the special anxiety that many of our Superior and Eldorado community members
may be feeling at this time.
