早上，seller那边说不能完成在closing前打扫后院的工作，因为没钱了。
我让我的agent告诉seller, 卖家的两个人高马大的儿子可以帮她打扫。并强调，合同

第二天，Realtor向我们道歉，并建议我们再去看一下房子，然后再做决定。想想快

London有篇著名小说叫《White Fang》（白牙））。
狼激动或不安的时候会whimper；受到威胁时snarl；发出短促的警告是woof；危险来临
时bark。最出名的是其凄厉、诡异、听起来悲伤的howling，他们以此警告其他狼群不
要侵犯，或与自己族群保持联系，或是进攻之前的信号。
狼愤怒时，会咧嘴呲牙；害怕时，两耳紧贴头部（平时是竖着的）。高兴时摆尾；但如

了三天。于是这三天我不上网，不看电视（同样因为没cable了），听广播看报纸，过
了几天怀旧生活。最可爱的是打电话回家报告停电时，老爹说，你没点个蜡烛弄点小酒
喝喝？答曰：否。顿时觉得自己很不浪漫。
当然浪漫的事情也干了一件，就是把上次看了一半的《现代启示录》给看完了。这当然
是一部伟大的电影。每个喜欢战争影片的人都应该把它找来看看，这部1979年的片子无
论声响视觉都有震撼性的效果。上次谁说过他最喜欢听着瓦格纳的音乐去杀人那段，我
觉得在柬埔寨人祭祀的打击乐中，巨大的水牛被一刀断头，马龙.白兰度同时死于乱刀
之下的那段， 也是让人喘不过气来。
总的来说，这是一部诗意的电影，血腥恐怖的诗意。有心人应该注意到马龙。白兰度扮
演的kurtz上校与willard上尉交谈时的一段话：we are the hollow men. 还有bang,
whimper等字眼。这些实际上深有寓意，出自于T.S. Eliot 1925年的诗 the hollow

我不是一个人搞不定她的指甲么，昨天使劲遛了一大圈，然后直接带去petco剪指甲，
我去付钱顺便买了袋treat等着剪完了给她，心想应该差不多了吧，就进去看，正好还
差一只脚的。结果人家一眼看到我了，哎哟妈顿时那惊恐的眼神，好像突然意识到我出
卖了她一样，拼命挣扎whimper，回家才发现腿都淤血了，估计我进去之前也挣扎过
结果今天遛完回来我说好心给擦擦脚，她突然就疯了，冲着我的手snap了好几下，然后
开始围着屋子全速跑了7、8圈，喝了口水又跑了7、8圈，我赶紧给按住，没事了，然后
我说继续给擦脚吧，刚碰到脚又发疯了，又去跑圈，还原地直升机转，吓得我不敢碰她了
现在有点小郁闷，这么简单的grooming都搞不定，我还想跟人家学show dog呢:( 这以

who don't even rub their eyes.

just Fantasy although that is looking damn good all by itself. My Sci-Fi
list last year was only 7 books long, which grew a little with the year, but
it was so short I combined it with UR and Steampunk picks. This year Sci-Fi
warrants a post all its own with loads of debuts and returning stars. The
people claiming Sci-fi is dying or already dead should shear the wool off
their eyes and see what is brewing.
