Acclaimed actress Billie Whitelaw, famous for roles in films such as The
Omen, has died aged 82, her son confirms.
The Coventry-born star, who was made a CBE in 1991, worked in close
collaboration with playwright Samuel Beckett, who described her as a perfect
actress.
She died in the early hours of Sunday at a nursing home in London, her son
Matthew Muller told the BBC.
"I could not have asked for a more loving mum," he said.

卡尔加里的Colin Adair警官介绍说，自从实施汽车诱饵计划以来，汽车盗窃案件减少了一半。警方不但在停车场放“诱饵”，还在显著位置树立标语牌(如上图的牌子上写着：偷车贼们小心了，诱饵汽车无处不在)。“这提醒车主们锁好自己的汽车，同时对偷车贼也有心理警示作用。” Adair说。
一旦诱饵车被盗，感应装置会立即向警方传送信号。警方会立即派车予以跟踪，同时使用GPS进行追踪。等诱饵车驶到安全区域时，警方通过遥控装置切断汽车动力，将偷车贼逮捕。
卡尔加里交通局的发言人Brian Whitelaw 说，这些诱饵车“会根据需要在各停车场间转移。”

警方已拘捕117人，又指涉案者若自首会被低调处理，否则可能被警方公开采取拘捕行动。警方并欢迎成立调查委员会检讨当晚事故。
温市警察局长朱小荪昨日发出书面声明表示，警方调查「冰球暴乱」事故后，相信暴乱中的煽动者包括犯罪分子，无政府主义者和暴徒等。
他称，煽动者早有计划，无论球赛结果是胜或负，都会策动暴乱。而其他加入暴乱的人，大部分是来自不同阶层的青少年，他们之前没有刑事纪录。
警方直至目前为止拘捕了117名涉案人士，他们被捕原因涉及扰乱公众安宁、在公众场所饮酒、伤人、行为不检、违反保释条款、盗窃、藏有偷来赃物和阻差办工等。
