his 《佃农理论> does not have such significant contribution to economics,
his often cited "contractual nature of the firm" is also lack of further
development. his idea is intersting though.
if he can get a nobel before Williamson does, then Nobel must be a joke.

good as those media or himself claimed. he belongs to the chicago school, but
not a representative. i have a book, the chicago studies in political economy.
none of steven's paper is included.
even in the so-called neo-institutional economics field, there are some other
economists who are better than steven. alchian, harold demestez, oliver
williamson are just few of them.

I just explain why i think he could be called polisci-ist. North and Olson
are different. Their impacts in polisci largely come from polisci-ists'
application of their works. Their contributions to polisci are more like those
of Williamson (for his organizational economics), Hotelling (for his spatial
model) or Samuelson (for his internatoinal political economy). All these guys
are not directly involved in polisci, |

话包括Lake的Entangled Relations，还有Ikenberry的After Victory，在IR这边还
是挺有影响力的，但是现在好像做的人不多了，上个学期有一个哥伦比亚的Assist
ant Professor到我们系Job Talk好像还是在做这个，不过没有拿到offer。
North的书对比较政治里的new institutionalism特别是historical institutiona
lism影响挺大的，个人来说我还是挺喜欢他的东东的，本来这个暑假想参加 Washi
ngton Uni的那个夏令营，因为传言North会去讲课，但是后来又不去了，真是遗憾

separated from the historical institutionalism approach. of course, the path
dependency argument overlaps with historical institutionalism. I didn't like
north's book because it jumps between different levels of analysis, and so is
really fuzzy. maybe it's just because I'm stupid.

去射箭。

终于有时间坐下来写报告
船长周日临时有变动，原本和当地钓鱼大腕的sailfish计划因故取消。俺得以有机会再次去实践深海deep jigging。周六晚上收拾渔具一直到深夜3时，早晨8点起床，直奔key west。当天天气不错，key west全天sunny, 75-84度，东风11mph,这可是整mahi mahi的绝好天气，有针对性地准备了相关的渔具，重新更换了leader。
途径keys的许多桥时发现，今天bridge fishing的人也不少，想起来现在正值permit fishing的高峰期，路边浅海的地方还有不少大虾站在齐腰深的水里fly fishing，远处的外海也是帆星点点。
为了让我休息充分，最近jay让我按正常作息起床后出发，这个安排对我很奏效，每次回家不需要中途休息，可以一口气开回家。唉，人过四十就是不一样，精力和... 阅读全帖 |

文件，发现Klein的故事竟然是瞎编的！
