旧金山气候特别好（也许是全球气候最好的一个地方），四季一点都不分明，差不多只
有两季。冬天比较暖和，比南边几十英里的南湾（气候也很温和）都暖和，夏天很凉爽。
芝加哥冷天过长，因为风大而且靠冰冻的五大湖而使得有时特别冷。要不怎么叫Windy

一下名符其实的大城市， 就像清淡爽口的小菜吃多了， 来一道浓油赤酱的大鱼大肉，
调剂一下也很不错。上学时来过芝城多次，印象最深的一次是下午在空无一车的88号
公路，车里放着的就是这首罗大佑的《城市晚风》，橘黄色的夕阳穿过车窗，照得我和
LD都眯缝起了眼睛。 眼前路依稀还是那条路，坐在身边的还是那个人，只不过后座多
了个兴致勃勃的儿子，罗大佑的碟片，已不知失落在何处了。
入住的The Talbott Hotel位于风城的”Magnificent Mile“，属市中心的中心，离著
名的”Water Tower" 只有两三个街区。酒店门脸不大，但古色古香地很精致，墙角的
壁炉旁挂着旧时打猎时召唤猎犬的铜号；客房面积很大，色调是沉稳的藕荷色和白色，
从家俱到床上用品无一不精。 酒店的服务也非常好， 很够四星标准。这是个值得推

does not do slope very well due to its small engine but it works well on the
flat Midwest. When I drive on interstate, I rarely let other cars pass me
including sport cars.
Of course its body is relatively lighter, suspension softer, thus whobbles
when its is windy. But I consider the floating feeling part of the fun.The
steering wheel is stiff which I like. It cuts the curve beautifully.

deers are pretty much deaf to that frequency; and

brought by the deer whistle, plus in a windy/rainy
day, the ambient noise will also blent the sound

Back to a few years ago, I drove a 2004 Corolla S on highways in howling
windy for many hours, it was actually no problem at all. Of course, you
should put your hands on the steering wheel all the time. |

pedal to maintain speed or for mild acceleration.
Of course, it's your job not to use it on a windy highway with 18 wheelers

1. Drive slow, use lots of 1 or 2 shift, up and down
2. Make sure your brake and tire are in good shape before you go
3. Even outside view is breathtaking, don,t let your eye off the road, ask
passenger take a video
4. In some segment, you may encounter windy, rainy or hail, be prepared
5. Some people may encounter high altitude reaction
but it's worth it. |

slowing when I took the picture.
I set cruise control at 65 mph but the right lane is slower than that, so
that I have to switch to middle lane. Then the semi behind me got inpatient
and started to pass me on the left, which of course takes a long time. I got
a car in front and another semi in the back.
So I was completely boxed in.
I admit that I wasn't paying attention since I was cruising with foot off
the gas paddle.
