thickness... Historically, the nominal dimensions were the size of the
green (not dried), rough (unfinished) boards that eventually became smaller
finished lumber through drying and planing (to smooth the wood). Nowadays
this is no longer the case - the mill wouldn't really need 1" green board
for a 3/4" dried but the conventions are here to stay...

一般woodworking就是先上（各种）油，然后是poly（用来seal)，然后可以上wax |

saw其实事故率很高尤其对新手。

你要找到可能是 planer 或 Sander。 以前 woodwork 手动工具，最流行大概就是
Stanley planer 。 不知道电动工具时代， Stanley 怎么样。 不过秉承我在本版专门
黑 DeWalt 的习惯， 这个垃圾公司现在的Stanley 电动工具估计质量也越来越差。

说到tablesaw, 你要是打算搞成enthusiastic weekend woodworker, 建议上cabinet
table saw, 稍微把预算往上加一加，买个二手的够了。或者搞个新的hybrid table
saw， Grizzly的就800左右。
我的是powermatic 66. 是多少年的旧机器的， 买的成本远不及你的预算，运回家后把
机器全部拆开，lubricate,补上零件。机器运行时，桌面上可以竖直放个硬币, 硬币不
会倒。

大家woodworking用啥螺丝？wood screw真心不便宜。。。。drywall screw好像除了在
车库里面用用，做木工很容易把木头转坏啊 太硬的木头容易断....
还是牛人们都用GRK的螺丝啊，用torx/star的drill bit？他家的螺丝好用countersink
藏起来么？需要转pilot hole么？
ms 他家只有washer head, trim和平头三种？大家一般都用#8？ |

我们这个学校只到８年级，也就是初中毕业，有些地方是一直到高中毕业的．发的材料
上说９３％的Waldorf学生都会有四年大学教育．去的时候正好ＰＴＡ开会，满眼看过
去象是坐了一屋子德国农民．不是说穿着，而是那些脸给人的感觉．非常的down to
earth.
三岁以下是亲子课，一周一次，一次两小时．三到四岁是混合pre-k. 到六年级以后，
为让小孩适应普通学校，开始使用标准化试题．每学期会发一个rubric，写明能做到哪
些会是在哪一档，但是也不是用ＡＢＣＤ．在那以前，小孩每学期不评分，没大考．８
年级才开始接触计算机，而且是从装机和写程序开始．所有的教室都没看到自己的小图
书馆．
下面讲教室，每班大概是２０人．二年级以下，每班两个老师．每个老师从一年级会一
直带同一班到８年级．只有Ｋ教室里有分区．有一些玩的东西，基本上都是天然的，或
稍做加工，没现代化玩具．都是些木头桩子，木头块，贝壳，纱巾，几个木头架子．小
孩想玩什么都得自己搭，有些我们小时候玩游戏就地取材的意思．有意识的激发小孩的
