在一个局域网里，想要建立一个workgroup.这个workgroup里面有一台机器的硬盘会share
,能不能做这样的设置：只有这个workgroup内的机器可以看到这个share,其他的在同一个
局域网内的机器，如果不是这个workgroup的，根本就看不到有一个硬盘被share了。 |

直接加是不可能的，我的workgroup不是叫缺省名字(workgroup)
mac os再聪明也不能知道我的workgroup叫啥吧。
问题是它自己没加的话我手动哪里去加？google遍了就见提到那个我找不到

you dont have to join a workgroup. just set the workgroup with the name
of workgroup and you are in.
if you'd meant join a "domain", you may have to ask for the approval of
the domain controller (speak to the administrator). i think samba has an
option to work as a domain controller. i never tried it though.
if you can browse the printer from the explorer, then you dont have to
install the unix printing service of w2k/xp. just print to it.

so you cannot see each other although they happen to have
the same workgroup name. You can change their workgroup names
to others. You can see that they cannot see the other's workgroup
at all. |

machines are peers.
so for your need, a workgroup is sufficient.
but regardless whether you setting up a domain or workgroup, you should
consider other security measures, eg. firewall.

现在我已经在两个routers建立了VPN联接。现在有个问题：
假如Location A有三个ＰＣ，一个Windows 2003 Server运行Small Business Manager,
ＩＰ地址是192.168.1.*, 属于workgroup; 我在Lacation B有三个ＰＣ，IP地址是192.
168.2.*,同样也属于workgroup, 我想在Location B的某台ＰＣ登陆Small Business
Manager,可是不成功，如果我用\\192.168.1.X访问Small Business Manager，可以看
到这个Server, 但是我在网络邻居里看不到．
我很少碰到网络问题，请问有没有可能我在location B通过网络邻居看到location A的
机器？如果可能，how?

Belkin的便宜router,可以用。最近换了个linksys E3000的router,也顺利地用了1个星
期。这两天突然死活有几台xp的机器，win7的机器就上不了这个workgroup了。在网上
找了半天，试了几种方法，还是不管用。
请问有什么解决办法吗？谢谢 |

问题。
情况是这样的，我现在要去参加一个group discussion （类似于 workgroup）
知道这个题目的讨论跟自己以前的boss现在在做的一个project很类似。
这个workgroup的 organizer在不停的邀请一些相关人士参加。
我只是被邀请参加的其中一个。
不过考虑到前老板的project跟这个也很类似，
我就想可否跟这个workgroup的organizer提及我前老板现在在做的project，
顺便看看可否请我的前老板来参加这个workgroup。
我自己的想法很简单，就是觉得很类似的东西嘛，大家应该交流一下。
但是因为现老板是一个很political的人，总是跟我说要注意不要expose不该说的东西。
所以搞的我做事情的时候要很小心。不想给任何人（尤其是前老板）带来任何不好的效
果。
所以，在这边问问大家的意见。
我的问题如下：
（1）如果对workgroup的organizer提及前老板现在的project，对这个organizer来说
有没有“多管闲 |

昨天折腾了一晚上也没有搞定.
两台机器都能上网.可是联接router时,一浏览自己的workgroup就说'no permission to
access the workgroup....'. firewall也关了,guest也打开了,...
试图两台机器直接用网线对联(双绞线好象可以,可是我没有双绞线),xp可以在workgroup
里看到自己,却看不到另一台机器.
最要命的是,两台机器竟然ping不通. 虽然一个IP是192.168.2.101,另一个是192.168.2.
105
两台机器都是xp pro,一台升级了sp2,另一台没有.
觉得应该是router的设置,可找了半晚上也没有看所以然来. |

现在windows explorer上已经可以看到它了。
但是让我输入user和password。
以前也碰到过这样的问题，怎么试都不对。
我的情况是这样的：
我的windows workgroup名字就叫"WORKGROUP"。
Pogoplug机器hostname是"Pogo-arch"，
(Windows network上显示的就是这个名字)。
pogo samba的server string是"Pogo-Samba".
我为samba设了一个user，叫"pogo".
还有一个"root" user。
我试了几种user name的组合：
1. pogo
2. WORKGROUP\pogo
3. Pogo-arch\pogo
4. Pogo-Samba\pogo
都不对。root也试了，也不对。
请问user name应该怎么写？
还是我什么地方设置不对？ |

家里两台DELL SB 8400, 相同配置，XP home edition.家里装的cable,我接了个wireless
router,然后两台电脑都是用的USB wireless adapter。 请问，怎样才能把两台电脑联起
来进行file sharing？
我不太懂网络的，但是直觉告诉我这应该很简单，我用windows 里的 set up home and
office network wizard试了好几遍，都不行，有时能在view workgroup里看到另一台，
有时又不行。而且即使看到了，点进去的时候也失败，说”no access to the
workgroup, contact administrator..." 郁闷啊。
一些基本情况：
1。两台电脑的确在同一个workgroup.
2.两台电脑的gateway地址一样，IP 地址 相联： ***.***.**.4, ***.***.**.5
3.drive and folder are all set to "sharing allowed"

2 desktops, “A” has WinMe only, “B” have dual OS: WinMe and Win2K Sever,
want to hook them up with hub. some strange happen:
1. In “A” WinMe & “B” WinMe: “A” can see itself only and “B” can’t
see the workgroup at all (not accessible), but they can share printer and
internet.
2. In “A” WinMe & “B” Win2K: “A” “B” can see both in the workgroup,
but, “A” is not accessible by “B”; when “A” visit “B”, password is
required?? The internet and printer can be shared.

我是这么弄的：
1. arch装好之后先mount external usb hard drive：
我是修改/etc/fstab，这样开机自动就mount了。
我只有一个ntfs外挂硬盘，所以fstab里面就一条：
#
/dev/sdb1 /media/WD-160G ntfs defaults 0 0
2. 然后装samba.
这个我是先"pacman -Syu" update/upgrade系统，
然后"pacman -S samba"安装samba。
3. 然后就"cp /etc/samba/smb.conf.default /etc/samba/smb.conf".
然后就修改"/etc/samba/smb.conf"配置文件。
我没有为samba建用户，直接用root，比较粗暴。

发帖数: 3241 | 34 半个月前废了不少脑细胞，终于把E02用archlinux搞定了，samba挂了3块硬盘。
过了几天发现文件少了很多，原来不支持中文，只显示英文文件。等于白干，饱受打击。
刚才又打算研究研究，3块硬盘只有一块能用，另外两块只有名字，下面空的。
能用的是系统盘ext3。
年龄大了，当时怎么搞的都忘了。不记得是不是自动mount，但当时重启了多次也没有
问题啊。
感觉linux比较反人类，我只需要简单的功能，搞了之后再不去摸。不觉得钻研这有啥
乐趣。
人穷志短，看在花了钱的份上还想再试试。高人再指点一二吧。
现在pogo下面三个文件夹，usb跟以前一样正常工作，Hitachi和wd下面是空的。
btw，smb.conf里面WD是大写，我看见的怎么是wd。

CONFIG等错误，其他浏览器也不能上网，但是qq还能上。绕开路由直接连modem好像没

查了一下路由的log，发现不能上网的时间点附近状态如下，感觉是Maximum number of

A 装有打印机并设为共享，并设有公用账号。2K中另一台B可以用那个公用账号登录并使
用A的打印机。 可是XP机器C却找不到任何A的信息，也没有办公使用A的打印机。 在网上
搜了很多，却没有一点头绪。

打算把台式机里的文件倒到 笔记本里去，
记得以前用 win98, win2000 可以把某个目录设成文件共享，
然后通过网络邻居，在同一个workgroup 里看到另一台机子，
再复制什么的。
我把这两台机器的网卡用网线连了起来，按说能在workgroup
里看到另一台机器的，但我折腾了一个礼拜，也没弄出来，
搞不清哪出现的问题。请专家给指点一下，多谢！
或者还有没有其它的方式可以把文件传过去的？
两台机器都有无线网卡，但好像把网络设成 ad-hoc模式时，
还是看不到对方的机器。
另外，文件比较大，不适合用 flash 传 |
