Cary, N.C. — Cary police were communicating Thursday with a gunman who was
holding at least one hostage inside a Wachovia bank on Green Level Road.
Police said the suspect, a man wearing a purple shirt and red pants, had
spoken to authorities by phone, and he had not demanded any money. He was
holding a gun on one of the tellers at 10050 Green Level Church Road.

Raleigh, N.C. — Those convicted of misdemeanor death by motor vehicle could
face much tougher penalties.
Gov. Bev Purdue on Thursday signed a bill into law that, according to
lawmakers, gives judges the authority to sentence those convicted of the
charge as much as 60 days in jail.
It takes effect Dec. 1.
The governor was joined by lawmakers and two families whose stories prompted
the law.

RALEIGH, N.C. — The popular annual book sale from Wake County Public
Libraries kicks off Thursday.
More than 450,000 hardcovers, paperbacks, children's books and other
media will be on sale in the State Fairgrounds' Exposition Center
Thursday night through Sunday.
The libraries will also throw an accompanying festival, with a variety
of musical performances, dancing, demonstrations of stilt-walking and

发帖数: 12 | 43 谢谢建议，不过您言过了。既然要养狗，也做过research，做决定养狗就不是怕花钱，
我是不想把钱给没有责任心的breeder而已，有同事在Westminster kennel club比赛上
做裁判，推荐给我在charottle有花很大精力培养lab retriever的breeder，他们建立
基金会，送狗给孤独症儿童做陪伴犬，如果正常人想从他那里得到狗，品相非常好的也
才1500，而且他都客气的说我卖的很贵，因为要补贴赠送的狗的开销。这些人是非盈利
的，专门为了培养良种狗而存在的人。
后来只是我女儿偏爱小型犬我才改主意想养小狗。Maltese不掉毛，不容易使人过敏是
好品种，但是WRAL上买动辄超过1500有点趁圣诞节打劫的味道，而且那些breeder养狗
谋财，你觉得他们会关注狗的健康吗？相对之前的品相好的lab retriever的价格，我
觉得他们卖的有点离谱而已。去shelter或者rescure领养不是没有过尝试，没有机缘巧
合没有成功而已。这种合适的狗在shelter也很少。最后我们在朋友的帮助下已经找到
合适的爱犬，谢谢大家的帮忙和建议。

天而已， 未成年更不用服刑， teen driver一直是美国头号马路杀手，那案子不过是
万千毫毛中的一根而已， who care 毫毛后来怎么样了, oh, 这个报道还说要争取把马
路杀手刑期增加到60天呢， 照这个法律，徐已被关押远超60天了，即使定罪也该放了

都来砸吧。
多年前，报纸登了这么一件真事。一对新移民夫妇，单租一个三层house里的一层，别
的层里住着别的人家。某天，警察上门，把house里所有人都逮捕了， 然后起诉藏毒贩
毒罪，3天后交到法庭。第一庭是保释庭，就是商定保释条件。 因毒贩逃跑的前例多，
所以保释金很高， 那对移民夫妇交不起，只能呆在牢里等终审。 贩毒是重罪，可得慎
重调查研究庭审细辩，对不？起码也得5~6 审，甚至8~9审的。法庭很忙的，又不是你
开的，不能你说开庭就开庭吧？总得排期，通常每一庭预约3~5个月。 这么多次庭审下
来，到终审时已经4年后了。 因为证明到屋里搜到的毒品不是他们的，那对移民夫妇就
无罪释放了。哦，对了，那被定罪的毒贩被判了两年，人家有钱保释，所以蹲监的时间
比无罪的那移民夫妇还短。
新移民就无辜蹲了几年牢，总得讨个说法吧？从警察到法庭到政府都走遍了，因为此
案中所有程序都是合法的， 没有任何一方犯错，所以没有一方需要赔钱或者赔礼道歉
