有想過參與政治。1973 年，我在一間香港當時最大的電腦記憶系統的公司做事，主要
培訓技術人員。我的公司每年都拿到科技設計獎。當時，每次的頒獎嘉賓就是港督麥理
浩（C. Murray MacLehose）。1977 年，他來我們公司參觀，了解科技發展。本來是預
一小時，哪知，最後逗留了三個小時。當時麥理浩的秘書是李麗娟，她心急得很。
後來，麥理浩要發展香港經濟，使經濟多元化。事實上，麥理浩不但發展經濟，房屋、
教育和福利都一同發展。從此，我開始加入政府架構。1978 年，我還在外公幹，突然
收到電報，說政府想委我做立法局議員。
我當時很愕然，因為我對政治認識很少，甚至連立法局在哪裏都不知道。當時，真的想
