庆幸我们还算lucky,还能呆在这里。
其实big 4里面的那么频繁的performance evaluation, 如果拿了4 (not meet
expectation),要么自己resign, 要么就被fired。 我们觉得这几年下来的performance
-based fire 已经都结束了,该走的都已经走了。现在又来了laid-off.
Lay-offs的都是seniors & managers. Staff 都很安全。那些在忙季一周60-80小时的
日子,那些under-pay的日子,到头来都不算了。听说一些公司 severance都给4个月的
薪水,我们好像就给4周吧。
在firm里做了3年多了,和我一个class的60%的人都已经离开了,剩下40%中,今天又有
25%被laid-off。 他们的performance meet exp |

One of my friends put his position in one of the big4s as "Slave" on his
blog.You should celebrate for the freedom. Maybe you will find a suitable
job for yourself, not being a slave.
After all, it is just a job. Hope you will find yourself in a better
situation than before after you find a new position. Good luck and keep
yourself happy! Life is short. |

Tax is safe and still offers a decent annual raise because of FIN48.
BTW, I am still with the firm and not on the market at this moment. So, "
celebrate" for still being "slaved" But, maybe I should think of looking for
other opportunities. Maybe. |

time and take the unemployment compensation to vocation,,,after the 6 months
break,,,easly get into the job market to find a better paid job...dont
worry about it~~~ managers maybe more happy than you. |

In a normal workday, you come to your client, you get a call from HR, you
turn on your computer and go home. Done!
Losing a job is not so scary. What hurts most is it comes as shock.
Layoff is quite normal in USA. I heard it happened in 2001. Let us be
prepared and fight with the "coming" recession. :) |

but I heard less promotion this year.
I'm happy I left alreday. my guess if when people get the year end bonus as
of 9/1, they will start to look for industry job. |

,我终于自由了,我可以开始新的人生了!”
而是,“我就要丢失我的身份了。”
我很记得我的一个也是会计的同学在刚刚拿到绿卡后对我说的一句话:“拿到绿卡的最
大意义不在于我终于可以回国了,终于可以出国旅游了,而是我终于不怕被laid off
了。”

我昨天晚上又梦到了laid-off meeting (果然是噩梦重温啊),不过名单上没有我的
好朋友的名字,我早上告诉她我梦到她不再名单上,她说,“你不知道梦都是反梦吗?
我这周应该就结束了”另一个好朋友说HR通知她了。
我们的office说要帮着那些人找工作。美国人无所谓,拿了package,走人找工作。其实
作为外国人,我们最大的制约就是身份了,而现在big 4 申请绿卡也越来越难。
makeawish, 如果你的firm在招人,方便在这里disclose一下吗?我的一些朋友也许用

function group but maybe under different name.
The job function there is to provide GAAP expert advice to Asian clients(pay
attention, not just mainland job, you may got assignment to Japan or Korea)
that public listed in US. or now the converion of GAAP to IFRS.
Sorry, I can't do the referral now as I have left PwC now.
They used to ask manager level above and now they accept seniors. |

iplebased的,而且为了适合各个国家,标准都放的很宽,这样几乎怎么搞都
是符合IAS.
公司的annual report里面很多都不写.到时候看美国的投资者要叫了.
最后估计把IAS搞的很GAAP一样,哈.
