，accounting firms就不会想要你了，是真的吗？直接从公司会计干起，是不是没什么

发帖数: 509 | 3 It's somewhat true since it's completely two different career path, one
is
in private accounting and the other is in public accounting.
I do agree w/ crystal above that it depends on your ultimate goal. If
you
want a better work and life balance that pays not too bad, private
accounting is not such a bad deal. A lot of people go into corporate
accounting after spending a few years in public either at senior or
manager
level. People with public experience get a short cut and get better
position in a few years but they do pay for it for long working hours in
those years. Most people get out of public accounting because they don't
want to work the long hours year round.
The downside to start a career in private accounting is that it may take
longer to move up the chain (promoted), but they don't work the long
hours
the first few years as the auditors do. So no pain, no gain.
Depending on what you actually do as the entry-level staff accountant at
the
corporate, A/P and A/R are too good for long run, G/L is better, cost
accounting is good as well. |

get involved in a range of accounting duties to support the senior
accountants. I would like to know if I feel like switching the path from
corporate to firms after a while, is this possible, even though most people
chose the other way around. |

public and private accounting are focused on 2 very different fields and
your daily duties will also very significantly for the same reason.

发帖数: 509 | 6 It's not likely to happen to switch from industry to public later on. The
main reason is that public accounting firms either big or small are only
willing to train fresh grads at the beginning. They don't usually hire
experience staff without prior audit experiences since as experienced staff,
you are expect to lead other junior staff and don't need a lot of
supervision for audit field work. Prior operational accounting experience
in the industry won't do you any good in this aspect. |

prior audit experience (unless the firm is looking to expand and you have a
strong private background that meets their needs). It's def. a plus to get
your CPA done before you join the firm, will increase your chance of
getting in as an experienced hire.

, you have a very slim chance to be recruited as experience stuff at
accounting firms. Big 4 won't consider it, regional or smaller firm might,
but chance is slim. A friend of mine got it with a strong internal referral
but her work experience is state tax audit related under the circumstance
that back then all big 4 are in short of staff.
To be honest, if you don't have any other job offers at public accounting,
take this one and learn as much as you can on the job about various aspect
of accounting. Not all accounting major has to go through the public
accounting phase of career. I've seen quite a few who has very good career
path solely working in private accounting. |

才发现整个dept.有80%都是4大来的。有干了2-3年觉得太累来的，也有5-6年为了能有
时间生孩子来的：）很多人说从4大出来到industry，你的级别和工资就jump了，其实
不竟然。如果去大公司也就是个平级,起码我们公司是这样。我们也忙，但绝对work
life balance.mm不要想太多了。 |

发帖数: 201 | 13 不能同意更多. 其实整来整去就是和自己过不去,结果都一样,也不会比其他人更好. 有些4大跳出来的,到头来连500强都挤不进去,最后也就进家小公司混混.

候还是很自由宽松的，没有固定的上下班时间，不想去了呆家里工作一整天也没人说你
什么
至于说前途么，看是什么公司什么职位了。有的职位是没有什么前途的，跟你的老板也
很有关系。big4的好处么， 就是内部各种机会很多，不喜欢干这个可以换别的，不喜
欢这个老板，可以跟别的老板。 |
