Experienced Boston based accountant with bilingual English/Chinese language
skills.
Whale imaging is a global medical device manufacturer. Having successfully
completed our start up phase we are now expanding our Boston based
headquarters and require an experienced accountant to help manage accounting
activities. The job will require frequent communication with our
manufacturing and admin facilities in China so bilingual language skills are
essential.
Accountant Job Duties:
* Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and
analyzing account information.
* Document financial transactions by entering account information.
* Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
* Summarize current financial status by collecting information; preparing
balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
* Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account
information. Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
* Prepare monthly sales reports into excel spread sheet for analysis
* Secures financial information by completing data base backups.
* Verify and reconcile contracts, orders, and vouchers, and prepares reports
to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlement.
* Monitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and
company procedures.
* Develop and implement accounting procedures by analyzing current
procedures; recommending changes.
* Work with tax agent to comply with state and federal tax filing
requirements by studying regulations; adhering to requirements; advising
management on required actions; calculating quarterly estimated tax payments
; assembling data for quarterly and annual tax filings.
* Respond to and coordinate with the Parent company in the internal audit
which will take place annually
* Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and
summarizing account information and trends.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Excellent English and Chinese speaking and writing skills.
* Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field.
* Minimum three years work experience in an accounting environment
* Certified Public Accountant would be well considered
* Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
* Excellent computer skills
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Deadline oriented with good time management skills
* Familiarity with Quickbooks
