About the speakers:
Joseph Lu heads the Longevity Risk Team in L&G. He leads the analyses
for setting longevity assumptions for pricing, valuation and capital
management. He has been active in international actuarial research,
winning 2 awards for the Best Sessional Papers from the UK Actuarial
Profession.
Dr. Billy Yu is an actuarial mathematician at Traymar Capital. He
provides research to the Fund managers, including mortality modelling,
life policy valuation and portfolio valuation. He is specialised in
mortality and morbidity modelling, and has published several papers on
mortality caused by various cancers and other genetic disorder-related
causes.
As two longevity gurus in this country, Joseph and Billy will cover a
wide range of topics on longevity risks including
• Longevity trend and aging population of industrialised countries
(using UK as an example)
• Longevity business such as annuities and longevity trades
• Aging population implications on UK and China
The forum will be facilitated by Feifei Zhang, President of CANUK, who
was involved in the BMW longevity swap when he was Head of Insurance and
Inflation Risk in Deutsche Bank.
The drinks reception, kindly sponsored by Darwin Rhodes, is a key part
of the event, providing an opportunity for further discussions between
and networking with the CANUK members.
