If you want to, sure. Here's some advice from MacInTouch reader Ade Rixon:
"It is quite easy to make these cables yourself. You need some Cat-5 cable,
the UTP connectors and a UTP [unshielded twisted-pair] crimp tool. (The
cost of these items probably means that this is only economical if you want
to make a lot of ethernet cables of both types.)
The wiring is:
