1. for native OS X program, like QuickTime, photoshop, illustrator,
Mathematica,
G3 600 iBook is almost equivalent to PIII 800.
2. for IE, slower than PIII 800. Suggest to use Mozilla.
3. the only problem is Matlab. the new Matlab release 13 runs under XDarwin,
a XFree86 emulator. I have tested its speed. equal to Athlon 400.
Anyway, I run matlab in workstation, so will not pay much attention on that,
but I still hope Mathworks can carbonize matlab in the future, just like
