1. saying Dual G4 1GHZ is comparable to P4 2GHZ is not quite convincing.
I've never read about such reviews/benchmark, maybe you can point
me to some proof. As far as PowerPC v.s. Pentium is concerned, G4
always ranked better at the same MHZ, so simple math does not work
here.
2. Usability is a very practical issue. I've used quite a number of
photo processing software on PC, and initially I thought they did

I'm not that dumb to just add the number, there were benchmarks out there,
Dual G4 1G纇as a slight edge over P4 2G. And P4 2.53G has an edge over
Dual G4 1.25G. I've seen those benchmarks, e.g.

As for Dual G4 1G vs P4 2G, I cannot find it now.

rather not wasting time repeating it here. Not sure about you, but I
am a regular Slashdot reader. Benchmarks using photo-processing
software is quite limited, just like in the early days when G4
first came out, PC users dismissed Steven Job's public stun of showing
photoshop could be twice as fast as on the top P3 at the time.
Another thing I want to point out is comparing dual CPUs to a single
