you tell whether the world is made better? Even it is, how do you know it is

| c****o 发帖数: 681 | 7 I think Page is full of bull in this interview. He just couldn't help
letting his disrespect for Jobs show. What he was saying, effectively, is
that he didn't need any advice from Jobs. Jobs requested the meeting, while
he didn't give it a damn. Jobs had lots of "interesting" insights about how
to run a company, and every English speaker knows "interesting" means "
nonsense" in corporate speak.
Bad mouthing the late Jobs personally not enough, he went on to say Android
is every bit as original and as great as iOS, so Jobs was making hay faking
the differences and the fury. Jobs just needed to create an enemy to rally
the troops, while the benign masters in Google were working hard trying to
make the world a better place.
He also says there has been nothing that Google did wrong in the past. Only
time there was "difficulty" is because AOL is crap and too hard to work with.
Some other gems from Page:
1) Apple is no longer innovative and is about to die, because it's actively
pursuing those who infringe upon its intellectual property. We at Google don
't care much about IP; we are so kind we create and distribute it to the
world for free. (Really? Then why the phuk don't you make your search
algorithms open source?)
2) Users on the internet have too much privacy. The internet is too much "
guarded". Why don't you, Facebook, open up all your users' database, and let
us look inside. We'll be able to do a better job figuring out what ads to
push to the users. Why don't you, users, open up yourself and let us look
into your personal life. We are going to make your life better if you do.
Why don't you understand that in the grand scheme of things, a lot of
privacy is counter productive for yourself?
I knew Eric Schmidt is a jerk before; now I suspect Google's evilness has
deeper roots. Anybody who thought Jobs is a control freak, think Google.
Google is about controlling every aspect of your life, not just the
ecosystem of your phone. At the same time, they will make you believe they
are only do-gooders who move the world, and you, toward a better future. | a***y 发帖数: 19743 | 8 .....

It's a fact that the current reality of everyone suing everyone was started

You're intentionally misleading on this one. Page was talking about the
wall,
built by other companies or governments. Just like the GFW, it's not there
to protect your privacy. Facebook doesn't allow users to export their
contacts to google, even if the user wants to. It has nothing to do with
privacy. | c****o 发帖数: 681 | 13 So google had nothing to sue others about. Is it something to be proud of?

| c****o 发帖数: 681 | 14 Why does Page want other companies to tear down the "wall"? He does so
because he wants the data that Google doesn't have, on you, your friends,
your family, and all your personal life. How much does Google+ stand to gain
if Facebook opens it up? A lot. How much has Google+ lost by allowing
people to export to Facebook? Precious little. Page wants Facebook to give
up valuable data that they spent a fortune and a long time collecting. It
smells like theft of intellectual property to me. He does it in the name of
promoting "openness". In Page's dreams, every wall is torn down, every
database exposed (to Google at least), so his machines can crawl all over
and gather ever more detailed information about you. What you get is the
ability to "search for people", i.e. peeking into other people's life
without their consent, and on top of that, lots of ads.

| w********2 发帖数: 16371 | 15 Steve Jobs biographer Walter Isaacson says Jobs' anger over Android was real
and not "for show" as alleged by Google's Larry Page in an interview this
week. Macworld UK attended a lecture Isaacson gave at the Royal Institution
and the biographer said that Jobs felt Android's similarity to iOS was "
history repeating itself", and compared it to Jobs' feeling that Microsoft's
Windows was a rip-off of the Macintosh.
He did the integrated system again, iPod, iPad, and it worked, “but what
happens? Google rips it off”.
Isaacson continued: “It's almost copied verbatim by Android. And then they
licence it around promiscuously. And then Android starts surpassing Apple in
market share, and this totally infuriated him. It wasn't a matter of money.
He said: 'You can't pay me off, I'm here to destroy you'.”
Isaacson went on to say that he believes that Tim Cook will handle things
differently and "will settle that lawsuit." Apple is currently involved in a
number of lawsuits over Android with manufacturers around the world.
