depreciates more than my desktop. I don't know why 果粉们believe Apple

$400.00. I still use it. No intention to buy a new one. I retired my desktop
because Win XP will expire. Otherwise, I even don't want to replace it too.
My new desktop recently purchased with $700.00 will be used until 2023 when
win8 expire.
So to account of comparability issue, it can be 400/5<700/3. this is a
reasonable logic.

2nd, your logic doesn't stand on its ground as you provided no evidence
about how much your laptop worth after you bought it. It may already worth 0
$ 1 year after you purchase it.
Last but not least, you couldn't only talk about investment without talking
about return when you think about 'value'. It may be different for other
people, but for you, you made a wise decision to buy an iPad rather than
another $400 laptop, and that decision saved your life. Money well spent!
