I knew, immediately, that this was the brightest comet I had ever seen in
the 23 years that I had been observing comets. No, it did not have the
overall splendid appearance of either Hyakutake or Hale-Bopp. But to see a
brightly condensed comet, complete with a one half degree narrow fan tail in
almost broad daylight, just 10 minutes after sunset, (5:48 pm CST), and at
