欧米伽星云M17

说明: M17是一个尘埃与分子气体聚集的暗云，也是一个恒星不断诞生的地方。由于
外型类似于希腊字母W，因而又得到了欧米伽星云的称号，也有人把它称为天鹅星云
或马蹄星云。这些分子云之所以黯淡无光是因为其如烟般大小的浓密碳基尘埃吸收了
背景光线所致。然而当明亮的大质量恒星形成时，会发出强烈而能量充沛的光线并慢
慢蒸散掉裹住它们的黑暗外衣。M17 自身约 20 光年大小，距离我们约5000光年，用
双筒望远镜朝人马座就可看到它。
