Can anyone give me some advice that if I got a phd from a top Oz uni (like
UNSW or USYD) and work in some Oz branch of US company for a couple of years
, I may have a shot at heading to States and securing a comparable job there

发帖数: 21641 | 4 UNSW/USYD这类学校的博士,如果英语什么的很好的话,从澳大利亚跳到美国的不要太多,
不过很多人干脆在澳大利亚办身份先,以后去美国也很方便
这是说工业界
关于美国公司在澳大利亚的分公司,一般都是做些市场之类的工作,技术方面的澳大利亚
本地公司为主,原因是市场规模小,很多行业的竞争不充分,虽然不算国家资本主义,寡头
垄断屡见不鲜,倒是澳大利亚公司在本土运作成功之后纷纷打入美国,不管是去圈钱还是
抢业务
目前的货币形势来看,澳大利亚属于高收入高消费,适合来先读书而图长远打算
如果想做faculty,那么得是比较冷的专业了,毕竟澳大利亚的整体学术水平还是低一点
的,和美国学校没有多大竞争力

will it make any difference if I'm already a Australia citizen? Cos I've heard the E-3 work visa is exclusively for Oz citizen and the quota is quite generous!

为那将是比较漫长的,博士读完还得2年至少
