fixed. The bodyshop will ask for the actual amount of money from the
insurance. |

A. get cash - if you do NOT want to fix the car or want to fix it cheap
and pocket the differece, get 3 free estimates from 3 different body
shops, fax them to the insurance company and ask for as much as possible
B. get the car fixed - send your car to good bodyshop, ask them to bill
the insurance directly. Usually insurance company recommended bodyshop are
good; avoid dealer because most dealers do not do body work, they tow your
car to a body shop nearby and charge you $20

发帖数: 568 | 4 Well. The first option doesn't exactly work that way. When someone hit my
car, I got 3 estimates ranging from 1800 to 2400. Then the all state
adjuster came and only wrote me a check for $1100. So I took option 2 and
got the car fixed at a bodyshop for about $1600. I endorsed the $1100 check
to the bodyshop and they asked insurance for the rest.I only got $75 from
insurance as the rental cost for all the trouble. |
