insurance/accident/safety
1st find out how much is your deductible. if it's $1000, and the cost of
repair is $500, you can't even file a claim.
2nd, nobody, including insurance companies themselves can tell you what
your rate will be until they actually run a quote for you.
3rd, many companies don't increase rate for one claim less than ~$1500.
you can do some online quotes and try it yourself. just don't give your
real info otherwise your credit report will be pulled multiple times.
4th, even if your rate increases next time you renew, it may or may not
related to your claim. maybe your neighbor road-killed somebody and paid
a big settlement and as a result your whole zip code's insurance rate
went up.
