If you buy a car from outside state, dealer will not collect the tax and
discount/rebate will reflect on the purchase price, which means the tax will
based on the price after cash rebate.
Well, dealer could play tricks again, though. You can find the tax rate in your county and calculate it yourself when you make the purchase.

compute tax for purchasing new cars. So according to you, it could be either
way, all depends on how dealer handles it.
