Hey all!
I bought a new GTI 2011 this January and not long after I got the car,
I observed the following problem: it automatically locks itself
(a.k.a. the brake turns stiff like a rock and won't depress and the
key won't turn) whenever the car sits for more than 24 hours. In order
to unlock it, I need to wiggle the steering wheel and turn the key and
push the brake at the same time to release the brake. So I took it to
the dealership hoping to get an answer. They observed the problem and
suspected a leaked vacuum and changed the vacuum pipe. However the
same problem occurred again! So I took the car to the dealership again
and they didn't know how to fix it. The technician called me and said
he didn't know what to do and asked me to take the car back. He said
he's gonna call me once he knows how to fix it but I refused. Then I
got a call from the manager telling me that the stiffness of the break
is the NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC of the car and unless I pick the car up
by tomorrow, I will be responsible for the cost of the loaner they
gave me during the repair.
Now I'm thoroughly confused: is the problem I described normal to
every GTI and brake is supposed to turn hard if you don't drive it for
more than a day or its the dealer's trying to dupe me?
Sorry for the rambling but I desperately need an answer.

熄火了没了助力，于是brake和方向盘就很难动了
重新打着火又可以动了
另，打火不需要转方向盘，踩住brake就可以了...

发帖数: 1538 | 4 人家小姑娘都知道怎么unlock方向盘，这个应该没弄错。
不知道GTI和Rabbit/golf在方向盘的机理上差多少，我的是Rabbit, 开了三年了，方向
盘也就锁过两三次。

发帖数: 77 | 5 IMO，她所谓的“lock”似乎就是失去助力了动不了，而不是固定住方向盘的意思
