S****h 发帖数: 558 | 1 We are going to have our second child. And our parents are with us. So
totally 4 adults and 2 children need to
be fit into the car. We used to have a Taurus which is ok for 4 adults
and 1 child. But now we need a bigger
car. Our friends recommend a minivan. We are on a tight budget
(student) and can only afford a used one at
maybe $6K-$10K. (We should be better once I got a job after 1 year or
so and maybe able to afford a better
one.) We have little idea about this category. Can anyone give us
some suggestion or maybe point me to
some places for further reading? (We drive about 5K-10K miles a year,
and I am glad with $1K-2K depreciate
on the car for average 1yr/10K miles)
A couple of specific question:
1. It seems most listing of minivan on our local craigslist have very
high
mileage (>100K), which is not the
case for car. Is a minivan expected to go higher mileage than a sedan?
2. Is there any other type I should look in besides minivan? | w*u 发帖数: 94 | 2 mazda 5

I end up got a 05 Dodge Caravan SE 100K $5K. My mechanics recommend Caravan
. He felt that Caravan generally is quite reliable and fixing is relatively
cheap. It had some whining when we got it, but the mechanics thought it
was minor power steering problem, and it has gone after he put some newer better
power steering fluid in. The van drives fairly nice and so far we are
happy with it. Hopefully it can last through for a couple of years without
major repairing. And we would be happy. |
