s*******u 发帖数: 44 | 1 Got a speeding ticket (there is a "ticket" on the title of that page). Need
send reply to the court (plea of guilty or plea of noy guilty). With no fine
on it. Just curous if it means I will get a fine and what the effects are
on the insurance. Thanks. | s********3 发帖数: 353 | 2 yes, normally you will get a fine, and if you may also get points in you
driving record. Or you can go to the court and argue, if this is your first
speeding ticket, you are likely to avoid the fine and points with the choice
to go to the traffic school (on line). If you want to just pay the fine,
your insurance premium may inscrease next time, how much? hard to say...
In my state, I got a ticket of 74/65, I paid around 80 bucks. | s*******u 发帖数: 44 | 3 Thank you.
This is the first time. Also, the speeding happened in a state far from my
liveing state. So I can't go to the court. Does this mean I will have to
fill in "plea of guilty" and get a fine?

choice

| s********3 发帖数: 353 | 4 unfortunately, yes. But I also heard that if you get a speeding ticket
outside your home state, you may not get the points even though you still
need to pay the fine. NOT sure about it, just know illinois driver doesn't
get points if he get the speeding ticket in Missouri.

Finally, the court send me a letter with $89 dollars charge. There are two
choices on the letter: 1) fine 2) surcharge. The court actually chcked 2)
surcharge.
It is strange and don't know what it means.
