BMW has issues with RFT and engine issue, performence better than MB.
Audi somewhere in middle.

bmw sucks in relibility. i only had 35K miles on the 4 yr old car.. started
to have all sorts of problems with the car in the past 3 months.. and bmw
failed to repair it... | s*****d

发帖数: 2719 | 6 yeah, the car was still under warranty, but it is still not worth it to go
to the dealer all the time while I could be spending the time with my family
and enjoy life.
We didn't have any problem with the car in the first 3 year except for 1
faulty oxygen sensor.
But the car battery died a few weeks back that was when the nightmare
started.
Battery is not covered by the warranty so the dealer charged me over $600
replacing the battery. but with after the battery change, the car would fail
to start from time to time. Then they told be that the car's eccentric
shaft was damaged because of a faulty sensor. BMW warranty covered the
repair, otherwise it would had cost me $4800.
the work was done to replace the shaft but that fix didn;t fix the problem
and my car was still having issue starting up.
As my warrnaty will expire in december, I decided to just trade in for
something that's more relible. I hope Acura would be, at least I hope it
would be cheaper to fix when something does go wrong. A battery replacement
on an Acura is only $170 at the dealer..

d 2 small issues got fixed, which were not many. Plus you got free BMW loane
r, overall it's quite convenient when you drive your car to dealers for serv
ice.

you will not get a loaner car. Even when dealership gives you a loaner,
it is usually a shabby car like a Honda or Sub. I asked BMW USA, and
they said that each dealership sets their own loaner car policy. There
is no official policy from BMW. I owned a BMW before, and for the first
4-5 years, I only got loaners twice out of 10 appointments. rest of time
I had to take taxis.
Aside from RFTs, the awkward I-drive, BMW is infamous for condensation
buildup inside fog lamps, air fliters, transmission programming,HPFP,
oil leaking, and other issues that require
frequent dealership visits (in my case, 7 visits per year on
average)and service appointments.
