wheel lugs. The recall affects cars from the 2010 and 2011 model years that
have steel wheels.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says vibration in the
studs can cause them to crack or break, possibly resulting in the wheel
falling off.
Ford said it will notify owners before the recall officially starts on Jan.
24, 2012. The company will instruct dealers replace the lug nuts on all four
wheels, as well as inspect the rear brake-disc surface for flatness and
replace the discs if necessary.
Concerned owners can call Ford's customer service department at (866) 436-
7332. Additionally, owners can call NHTSA's vehicle-safety hotline at (888)
327-4236.
