I drove GL450 before. Its fast with great handling, the best I have seen on
any large SUVs.
So, if you have to have a large suv and values performance above anything
else, then this is the car for you.
Personally, I would not spend that much on a car though... the performance
is great but nowhere near the the performance of a M3 or RS4. I know its not
fair to compare these 2 cars against GL450, but for the same money I would
get a M3 + Cheap mini-van.
this way, you could drive the mini-van to drop your kids to the karate class
and drive the M3 for pure enjoyment..
a M3 is better than GL450 in performance.
a minivan is better than GL450 in seating and cargo space.
you would have the best of both worlds, for the same price as GL450.

M3 when talking about GL...
They are as different as heaven & earth, black & white...

The $649 looks like advertising and they are all "fake", the price is based
on barebone model that will not be available on the lot.
Based on my experience with BMW and Audi (not MB), for an advertised price
of $500 lease, you should expect to pay about $700 (and tax) after you get
the options you want.
