Vehicle Weight is a Crucial Safety Component
Crash test ratings do not account for the relative weight of your vehicle
compared with vehicles you may collide with. The laws of physics control the
apportionment of forces between colliding vehicles and therefore a vehicle
is not a "safe" choice if it is lighter weight than the average vehicle,
despite receiving excellent crash ratings by both agencies.
The table below, provided by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety
, shows the relationship between vehicle size/weight and driver fatality
rate. This correlation is evidence that you are 3.4 times more likely to die
when driving a 2,500 lb. passenger car than driving a 4,500 lb. SUV, even
when the ratings of those vehicles are identical.

试,还有很多车重和死亡率的统计。好像还专门有一期讨论这种碰撞

还是应该单看的

j*****z 发帖数: 5306 | 6 所有在small overlap里面收到marginal和poor评价的车型都被踢出safest list了。
还有一个所有有数据的车型的列表总结,有某方面有安全隐患的都被著名,small
overlap结果不好就是一方面。

ML350,Lexus RX330
都还没做,不知道结果出来后是否还能排在Top 3% Volvo XC60前面
