今天收到警察给我发的邮件，内容如下：
Sorry for the delay... A report has been completed for the hit and run and a
crash report has been submitted as well. Case number for your insurance
company #2014-#####.
You should be receiving a call from our Investigators next week regarding
the case.
我有点想不明白，
为什么这个case number是for my insurance company？
为什么警察不告诉我对方的保险公司和claim number，然后我找对方保险公司索赔？
难道是要我通过我的保险公司找对方保险公司索赔吗？
第一次碰到这种事，没什么经验，还望各位指点迷津，多谢。 |

your insurance co. will find out the other party's insurance information. it
is their job.
in hit and run case,itis better to let yoiur insurance company to handle
that. since the other pary usually isa shameless guy who will deny
everything, and you are weak comparing to the other paryt 's insurance
company
