发帖数: 6599 | 1 first of all, I've never owned an SUV before. I have two pretty old cars,
and just upgraded one of them into a plugin hybrid. we are now thinking to
upgrade the other car. My wife and I are debating whether to go for a more
fuel efficient one (like a full electric car/or another plugin hybrid) vs an
SUV?
my question is, do you really find an SUV necessary? if I need a family trip
and need the extra seats/space, we can always drive two cars together. if I
need large cargo space for moving something big, i can fold the second seat
. for safety, some BEVs or PHEVs are pretty heavy, include all the nice
safety features in the latest model.
what's your take on this?
PS1: we commute ~40 miles/day to work
PS2: 5 seats are fine for my current family size |

I read that post before, but that thread does not cover the solutions for a
larger vehicle.
in fact, the one I just bought is a Volt too. but we are leaning towards MB
B-class Electric Drive or VW e-Golf for the next car, because they have a
larger cargo space (still not as large as a crossover, 17-19 vs 25-29 cf
with 2nd seats up) and they are both electric.
I guess my concern is that whether an MPV like B-class ED or e-Golf can (
partially) replace the role of an SUV (at least in 95% of the cases)?

我们这边还没有。不过从空间上看，奔驰的fuel cell和electric drive是一样的，都
是在b-class的基础上设计的。
b-class的电车7月就在我们这里开卖了，不知道大家从那里了解当前MB的incentive
program/rebate? 不知道刚出来的车好不好砍价
