看介绍，我觉得最有用的就是出了车祸或者车抛锚了的时候，通用能够迅速定位，然后
协助报警、救援。其他的什么语音导航，获取车辆状态等等功能我觉得都没啥意思。 |

发帖数: 157 | 5 我最讨厌美国的试用。到期要是想关只能打电话，电话打过去那边各种软磨硬泡，浪费
时间。所以 dealer 问我要不要的时候，我就说不要了。dealer 也没有废话。
我刚提到车的时候，onStar 的指示灯是亮的，过了2、3天吧，收到一个电话通知我
onStar 功能关闭了。然后再开车的时候，onStar 的指示灯就灭了。

对Onstar差评很多,其中一条是：
I purchased my car on Dec of 2013 and it came with a complimentary 6-months
trial. On the day of the purchase I talked to an OnStar representative who
requested my credit card information. I did not want to provide it, but the
person I talked to ensured me that my credit card would not be charged after
the free trial without me renewing the contract. I never received a letter
from OnStar informing of a renewal. Today I realized that OnStar has been
charging my card since June 2014 without my authorization. I called OnStar
and the representative informed me that I had been lied when told that the
service would not renew automatically. She cancelled my contract and
apologized for the inconvenience, but did not making things right by issuing
a refund. This is very unethical and I wish consumer's rights would be
protected against these companies doing whatever they want. |

太多实用价值，可以取消的

I have a 3-yr OnStar subscription, came with my 2014 Volt. Over the past 6
months, I used it a dozen times. About half of the cases, I used it as an "
intelligent" GPS, especially when I wanted to go to a place under tight time
constraint. I just call OnStar, and tell the agent where I want to go, and
he/she will search the location, set the GPS and push it to my in-car
navigation system. This is particular useful when you know the rough name
of the POI (maybe one word of the restaurant name), but not the full address
.
In other occasions, I called to ask for volt advisors on car settings, or XM
service info.
overall, the response is fast and reliable. should be definitely useful
under emergency conditions. but after the subscription expires, I will have
to think about it whether it is worth to continue.
The dealer told me that mentioning OnStar subscription may help lower the
insurance. I tried, but it did not work.
If I can figure out the voice-pass-through with my android phone, I guess I
will need OnStar even less.

in comparison, the OnStar RemoteLink App is indeed useful. I can turn any
phone/computer as my backup key fob. I can also locate my car and use the
android/apple voice interface to find locations and push to the in-dash GPS.
I use it on a regular basis.
But if you only use the remote start/lock/horn features, I don't think it
requires an active OnStar service. Based on this page, those features are
available for free for 5 years with or without the OnStar service.

有手机app的像mbrace ，Hyundai应该更方便，不过没用过。
