16, running toward a burning car that had hit a gas pump and rescuing the
78-year-old driver trapped inside has already traveled the world. But in
case you missed it, the Bittar brothers were leaving a New Seasons Market
when they saw a fire at a nearby gas station. Raphael's new passion for
photography and curiosity pulled the brothers to take a closer look. That's
when Raphael saw the woman inside the car.
The driver, 78-year-old Sally Moeller of Beaverton, had moved to the front
passenger seat but couldn't get out. Phillipe said he could see her shaking
and ran to help, his brother on his heels. | g***n

The driver, 78-year-old Sally Moeller of Beaverton, had moved to the front
passenger seat but couldn't get out. Phillipe said he could see her shaking
and ran to help, his brother on his heels.
"I'm right behind you," Raphael told his brother. He was backup in case
Phillipe failed.
Phillipe yelled at the woman to move back and he punched the window,
shattering it, and grabbed her under the arms, like an infant, and pulled
her out. He didn't have time to change her position and carried her like
that to two women on the scene. Raphael helped the women assist Moeller.
Moeller is doing fine, said her son Louis Moeller. She is staying with him
and his family in Forest Grove.
He said the family is grateful for Bittar's help, calling the rescue a
miracle.
Washington County Sheriffs office said Moeller accelerated in reverse while
intending to apply the brakes, causing the vehicle to crash into the gas
pump and igniting gasoline vapors.
The source was either electrical or mechanical but fire officials are unsure
if it was the car or the gas pump that sparked it, said Alisa Cour, a
Tualatin Fire & Rescue spokeswoman, adding that she didn't believe the car
was being fueled at the time. The investigation is continuing. | g***n
